A Longer Progress Bar Does Not Create a Deeper Game
In today’s Gaming Guest post, is about how longer progress bars don’t technically make a game “deeper”.

“Do not doubt our resolve or mistake our isolation for weakness. House Telvani stands alone. and it will remain so long after your alliances become dust between the pages of history.” — Archmagister Nelos Otheri, in private correspondence to Mournhold, Wayrest, and Elden Root.

A crafting set station is a crafting area that allows you to craft a specific set piece of armor. Often there are additional requirements, like a number of traits that must be researched before you can make an item of a specific set. While you can make generic pieces at crafting set stations, these are the only areas where you can the specific set that is listed. There is one exception – attunable crafting tables (which are ‘tuned’ to replicate set stations) can be obtained and placed in houses for use.

On your map, crafting set stations appear with a blackened crafting icon when you are close to a location. Once the set station has been visited, the icon turns white.
Players are rewarded for each boss kill with item/items from that boss’s loot table.
Even with Curated Item Set Drops, bosses with a specific loot table will only drop curated items from their own loot table. Treasure chests have a chance to grant any set piece from the zone they are found in. Click here to learn more about curated set drops.
Mythic items are powerful items that have special bonuses for every single piece. These items are available by completing groups of master difficulty Antiquity leads.
A delve in The Elder Scrolls Online is in essence a small dungeon. Delves usually contain a few enemies, at least one ‘boss’, and a skyshard. Delves can generally be completed solo. If you are a new player, you may want to explore delves with a friend. Most delves have an associated quest that you can get just inside or near the entrance. This quest is more a side story to the main quest of the area but does offer rewards for completing it.
On your map, delves appear with a blackened single torch. Once the delve is completed (by defeating the boss or bosses), the delve icon turns white.

In the Telvani Peninsula, travel southwest from the Ald Isa Wayshrine to find Camonnaruhn.

Trials (also called raids) are referred to as endgame content for groups of 12 players. They are dungeons of a much larger scale. Trials require area-specific mechanics that require both teamwork and coordination. Players who complete trials are rewarded with items that cannot be obtained anywhere else in the game. Wayshrines are shrines that were built to honor the Divines by being a safe haven point where players can revive if you die while adventuring in Tamriel. Once you visit a wayshrine, it becomes available on your map for you to use to fast travel at no cost. You can also travel to any unlocked wayshrine from anywhere in Tamriel for a price paid in gold. This price reduces with time and also can be reduced by champion point allocations. Each zone begins with one available wayshrine.

To be able to accept daily quests, you must first complete a quest from the High Ordinator Boryn titled ‘Call of the High Ordinator’ which is found at the same location.

The World Events in this area are called Bastion Nymic. A Bastion Nymic is a new type of world event released with the Necrom chapter in Q2 2023. Nymics are for groups of up to four players. These areas are considered Apocrypha’s most mysterious and heavily defended fortress rumored to protect some of Hermaeus Mora’s greatest and most dangerous secrets.
Players will need to seek out Ordinator Tandasea in the city of Necrom who tasks them with collecting Daedric Ichor from unique monsters called Hearld’s Seekers. Once you’ve collected enough Ichor (your group needs 5 in total), you can proceed to one of the portal edifices in either the Telvanni Peninsula or Apocrypha to finally gain entrance to the bastion. The Hearld’s Seekers are not easy encounters. They are very similar to World Boss difficulty.
When you finally gain access to the fortress, you will encounter Mora’s corrupted minions ready to defend it. The encounters are designed for groups of four, it is a little more forgiving than a typical dungeon. The final confrontation with the Herald will have a few unique boss mechanics. Repeated assaults on the fortress will result in additional rewards and challenges. There are also secrets and side puzzles in each of the fortresses’ three quarters.

On your map, edifices appear as this symbol with a plus denoting this is a group event.
When you enter into the Bastion Nymic, you will begin near the center of the map. There are three distinctic regions:
Each area has enemies that need to be defeated to open pathways allowing you to proceed further.
Vhogor the Pestilent is the boss in the Plagued Quarter. During the battle, he summons other ogre brutes, ogre shamans, and Kindred Stinger enemies to aid him. He has very damaging hits and pounds the ground creating tons of poisonous aoes. Avoid the aoes when possible. Focus on the adds. Ranged attacks work well.
Kynmarcher Strix is the boos in the Dreaming Quarter. During the battle, he summons Dreamcarver enemies to aid him in battle. The Dreamcarvers are powerful mages. Focus on keeping their numbers down. Strix also splits into three shadow versions. Focus on the original while this is happening.
The Eater of Secrets is a lurker accompanied by two seekers, Condundrum and Enigma. Conundrum stays in the middle and can be easily avoided. Enigma creates path aoes where he flails his arms and runs over anything in his path. This can be easily avoided by stepping aside. The Eater of Secrets is the most aggressive of the three creating poisonous aoes and spawning tendrils that cause additional damage. Focus on the Eater of Secrets first, then Enigma, and finally Conundrum.
Once you have defeated your quarter’s boss, a portal will open taking you back to the middle where the ‘final’ boss will appear.
At this point, you may either challenge the final boss OR proceed to explore the other areas. If you choose to challenge the final boss, the nymic is considered completed and the remaining bosses will disappear.
There are three versions of the final boss:

Defeating The Noxious Herald will reward you with the Nymic Purifier achievement.

Defeating The Dreadful Herald will reward you with the Nymic Defier achievement.

Defeating The Irrefutable Herald will reward you with the Nymic Refuter achievement.

This map uses the chest icon to denote the location.
You will be randomly rewarded with clues as you play Tales of Tribute matches. These clues, when used, will upgrade a Tales of Tribute card. You can earn clues for decks you do not yet have. To ‘use’ a clue, you will need to find its location and open the Tribute Treasure Box.

This clue will upgrade a card in the Almalexia Deck.

The Telvanni Peninsula, featured in The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom DLC, is a rugged, fungal-rich region in eastern Morrowind, unaffiliated with any faction, encompassing the misty, ash-strewn coastlines and towering mushroom spires around the Dunmer city of Necrom, a spiritual hub for ancestor worship, and extending into the surreal, knowledge-laden expanses of Apocrypha, Hermaeus Mora’s Oblivion plane of inky pools and endless libraries.
Steeped in Telvanni wizard-lord culture and Daedric mysticism, the zone blends alien landscapes with ancient Dunmer traditions. The main storyline follows players aiding Hermaeus Mora to thwart a Daedric conspiracy threatening reality, navigating Telvanni politics, and exploring Apocrypha’s forbidden archives, with key locations including the Necrom Necropolis and Apocryphal labyrinths.
The zone offers six delves, six world bosses, Bastion Nymic events, skyshards, lorebooks, and crafting stations for sets like Adamant Lurker, alongside the Sanity’s Edge trial. Its otherworldly terrain and intricate narrative of arcane power and cosmic secrets provide a captivating, accessible experience for all players.
