Stonefalls Skyshards

The Elder Scrolls Online

What Is A Skyshard?

Skyshards are glowing, mystical collectibles scattered throughout the world of Tamriel, serving as a rewarding incentive for exploration and character progression. These radiant, crystal-like objects, often emitting a soft blue or white light and accompanied by a distinctive humming sound, are small fragments of Aetherius, the realm of magic, that have fallen to the mortal plane.

Collecting three skyshards grants a player a skill point, which can be spent to unlock or upgrade abilities, enhancing a character’s combat, crafting, or utility skills. This makes skyshards a crucial resource for players seeking to customize and strengthen their builds.

Typically found in both accessible and hard-to-reach places, skyshards encourage thorough exploration of the game’s diverse environments. Some are placed in plain sight near roads or settlements, while others are hidden in obscure corners, atop cliffs, within caves, or behind challenging enemies, requiring keen observation or combat prowess to obtain.

Their locations are marked on the in-game map with a glowing star icon once discovered, but players must physically interact with them to absorb their power. Skyshards are often integrated into the game’s lore, tied to ancient magic or celestial events, adding a layer of immersion to their discovery.

They are distinct from other collectibles, as they are not tied to specific quests but are instead a universal feature across all regions, available to all players regardless of level or alliance. Some skyshards are located in group-oriented areas, such as public dungeons or world boss sites, where players may need to team up or strategize to access them safely.

The game provides subtle hints for each skyshard’s location through a journal, offering cryptic clues that challenge players to interpret and explore. Collecting all skyshards in a given area often contributes to achievements, rewarding players with titles, dyes, or other cosmetic bonuses.

With hundreds of skyshards spread across ESO’s expansive world, they foster a sense of adventure, pushing players to venture off the beaten path, climb treacherous heights, or delve into dangerous territories. This system not only enhances character progression but also deepens the connection to Tamriel’s vast and immersive landscapes, making skyshards a beloved feature for explorers and completionists alike.

On your map, skyshard will appear with a blackened skyshard icon when you are close to its location.  Once the skyshard has been collected, the icon turns white but then disappears from your map.

Once you collect all the skyshard from the zone, you will earn the Bleakrock Isle Skyshard Hunter achievement.
