Rivenspire Area Description
This northwestern region of High Rock contains some of the province’s most dramatic terrain, including towering, flinty crags, windswept moors, and narrow canyons. Many folk find the environment oppressive, even threatening.

What Is A Crafting Set Station?
A crafting set station is a crafting area that allows you to craft a specific set piece of armor. Often there are additional requirements, like a number of traits that must be researched before you can make an item of a specific set. While you can make generic pieces at crafting set stations, these are the only areas where you can the specific set that is listed. There is one exception – attunable crafting tables (which are ‘tuned’ to replicate set stations) can be obtained and placed in houses for use.

On your map, crafting set stations appear with a blackened crafting icon when you are close to a location. Once the set station has been visited, the icon turns white.

How To Obtain Overland Set Pieces
Players are rewarded for each boss kill with item/items from that boss’s loot table.
- Delve bosses drop a waist, foot, or another unique item piece.
- Overland World Bosses drop a head, chest, leg, weapon, or unique item piece.
- Public dungeon bosses drop a shoulder, hand, weapon, or unique item piece.
- Chests at Dark Anchors or Dolmens drop a jewelry set piece.
Even with Curated Item Set Drops, bosses with a specific loot table will only drop curated items from their own loot table. Treasure chests have a chance to grant any set piece from the zone they are found in. Click here to learn more about curated set drops.

Mythic Items
Mythic items are powerful items that have special bonuses for every single piece. These items are available by completing groups of master difficulty Antiquity leads.
What Is A Delve?
A delve in The Elder Scrolls Online is in essence a small dungeon. Delves usually contain a few enemies, at least one ‘boss’, and a skyshard. Delves can generally be completed solo. If you are a new player, you may want to explore delves with a friend. Most delves have an associated quest that you can get just inside or near the entrance. This quest is more a side story to the main quest of the area but does offer rewards for completing it.

On your map, delves appear with a blackened single torch. Once the delve is completed (by defeating the boss or bosses), the delve icon turns white.

Crestshade Mine
This mine is responsible for much of Crestshade’s prosperity, but work was suspended when trouble came to the nearby village.
Friend of Trolls
As you explore the Crestshade Mine, you will discover a journal. After reading it, you will learn that it was being kept by an Orc named Grularz. She was studying the trolls that lived there but they ultimately killed her. She mentioned a brother in Shornhelm and you decide to inform him.

Inside Crestshade Mine
Crestshade Mine is inhabited by trolls. This delve has one level, one boss, and one skyshard as notated on the map.
Grimtooth
Grimtooth is a large agressive troll. He has very heavy hits and stomps the ground creating large aoes that can knock you back. Ranged attacks work well but the fighting space is cramped. Avoid the aoes as much as possible.
Erokii Ruins
The crumbling walls, arches, and tunnels in Shrouded Pass are all that is left of Erokii, once the greatest Ayleid city in northwest Tamriel. Its destruction occurred so far in the past that no one today knows the date of its downfall.

Erokii Ruins are Ayleid ruins located in the northeastern region of Rivenspire.
Travel slightly northwest from the Staging Ground Wayshrine to locate this delve.

Exploring and defeating the boss will reward you with the Erokii Ruins Explorer achievement.
Inside Erokii Ruins
Erokii Ruins is inhabited by Montclair soldiers. This delve has one level, one boss, and on skyshard as notated on the map.
Earelcar
Earelcar is a High Elf Spirit Master and is accompanied by Miruin Woodwalker and Abal-jo. Abal-Jo heals and alos uses a lightning staff for attacks. Miruin Woodwalker uses a greatsword and is the most agressive. Earelcar also summons a Binding Eye that will explode when it reaches you.
Focus on Miruin Woodwalker first interrupting the other two when possible who will be trying to heal him.
Completing Ancient Power
After retrieving the artifact named the Tear of Anurraame, you will need to travel to the Mages Guild in Shornhelm.
At the Mages Guild, speak to Magister Wulfdis in the lower library. He will reward you with gold and the Magister’s Staff, a frost staff. This item is not part of an armor set.
Flyleaf Catacombs
There are at least three kinds of undead in Tamriel: the reanimated, which includes skeletons and zombies; the returned, which includes ghosts and wraiths; and the accursed, which includes vampires and their ilk.

Flyleaf Catacombs are tombs located in the southwestern region of Rivenspire. Travel northwest from Tamrith Camp Wayshrine to locate this delve.

Inside Flyleaf Catacombs
Flyleaf Catacombs are inhabited by the Bitterhand soldiers. This delve has one level, one boss, and one skyshard as notated on the map.
Miremonwe Spellslinger
Miremonwe Spellslinger is a High Elve battlemage. He is accompanied by two members of the Bitterhand bandits. He uses a lightning staff for heavy hitting attacks. Miremonwe also creates large aoes on the ground often with a hollow middle which is safe to stand. Avoid the aoes when possible. He is easily defeated.
Hildune’s Secret Refuge
The Montclairs were made barons in 1E 1029 when the Empress Hestra brought High Rock into the First Empire. Northpoint’s fortunes have waxed and waned with the ebb and flow of the northwest coastal trade ever since.

Love Lost
While exploring Hildune’s Secret Refuge, you will find Nadafa’s journal. Reading it tells you that she was seduced by a Vampire.

Hildune’s Secret Refuge is a cave located in the northeastern region of Rivenspire. To access it, you will need to find the trapdoor in an abandoned house in Northsalt Village. Travel north from the Boralis Wayshrine to locate the town.

Inside Hildune’s Secret Refuge
Hildune’s Secret Refuge is inhabited by Montclair soldiers. This delve has one boss, one level, and one skyshard as notated on the map.
Leidmir Corpse-Caller
Leidmir Corpse-Caller is a Nord Vampire and the leader of the Montclair soldiers. She is accompanied by Nadafa and Beline. Leidmir uses magical bolt attacks to cause damage. She can also drain your life force and generate a boneshield around herself. During Battle, Leidmir summons a bone colossus.
Avoid the aoes when possible. This trio is easily defeated.
Orc’s Finger Ruins

Orc’s Finger Ruins
Orc’s Finger Ruins is a Ayleid ruin located in the eastern region of Rivenspire. Travel southeast from the Boralis Wayshrine to locate this delve.

Exploring and defeating the boss will reward you with the Orc’s Finger Ruins Explorer achievement.
Inside Orc’s Finger Ruins
Orc’s Finger Ruins is inhabited by Bitterhand Bandits. This delve has one level, one boss, and one skyshard as notated on the map.
Fingaenion Forestsmasher
Fingaenion Forestsmasher is a Wood Elf and the leader of the Bitterhand bandits. He is accompanied by Bitterhand bandits. Fingaenion uses a battle axe that he holds to the sky to charge it for a heavy hitting electrical attack. He also summons dire wolves to aid in battle. Focus on the two bandits first, and avoid the aoes when possible. Ranged attacks work well.
Tribulation Crypt
Tribulation Crypt has long been the preferred cemetery of the Rivenspire nobility. Or it was, until the dead began rising from their graves.

Tribulation Crypt is a tomb located in the southeastern area of Rivenspire. The Rivenspire nobility prefer this cemetary.
Travel north from the Sanguine Barrows Wayshrine to locate this delve.

Inside Tribulation Crypt
The tomb called Tribulation Crypt is inhabited by the undead in the form of various skeletal warriors. This delve has one level, one boss, and one skyshard as notated on the map.
Alameric Daillon
Alameric Daillon is a Skeleton wizard and the leader of the undead in Tribulation Crypt. He uses his lightning staff to create huge aoes with electrical shock. Avoid the aoes as much as possible. He is easily defeated.

Completing A Past Remembered
Return to Stornhelm north of the Oldgate Wayshrine and locate Trierre Stenric. He is delighted to get the family heirloom back and rewards you with gold.
What Is A Public Dungeon?
Public dungeons are a type of dungeon that is non-instanced. This means that it can be accessed by anyone at any time. These dungeons are more difficult than delves. Public Dungeons contain at least one skyshard and often a group challenge that rewards a skill point. Each public dungeon also offers its own quests and achievements.

On your map, public dungeons appear with a blackened cave. Once the public dungeon is completed (by defeating the bosses/mini-bosses and all associated quests), the public dungeon icon turns white.

Obsidian Scar
The Orcs of the Daggerfall Covenant are mainly worshipers of Mauloch who, according to his adherents, is not by any means a Daedric Prince. But there are others, unaffiliated clans and outlaws, who worship Malacath, a deity all recognize as a Daedra.
Obsidian Scar Location
Travel north from Hoarfrost Downs Wayshrine to locate the cave known as Obsidian Scar.
Foul Deeds In The Deep
Inside Obsidian Scar you will encounter Lashgikh. She claims that she and her husband were abducted by the Oathbound but she managed to escape. She asks for your help rescuing her husband.
Ultimately you will find that her husband, Esmaeel has been killed. Lashgikh asks that you behead the two orcs that are responsible and participate in a ritual.
Completing Foul Deeds In The Deep
After beheading Thrug and Larzgus, the two orcs, you will return to Lashgikh and place the heads on spikes. During the ritual another orc named Osgrikh is summoned and he too must be defeated. These orcs are easily defeated and completing the quest will reward you with gold and the Festish of Anger memento.

Inside Obsidian Scar
Obsidian Scar is inhabitted by Oathbound warriors including sentinels, ravagers, and shamans. There are also banekins and clanfears.
Dungeon Bosses
Obsidian Scar has 8 bosses. To complete the dungeon, you will need to complete the quest and defeat all 8 bosses.

Doom Witch Dekamma
Doom With Dekamma is a dremora and is accompanied by several banekins.
Mechanics
Doom Witch Dekamma uses an inferno staff to attack and creates large aoes. She creates fiery runes on the floor that cause a lot of damage. Focus on the banekins as they can overwhelm you. Avoid the aoes when possible. Doom With Dekamma is easily defeated.
High Overseer Kvotai
High Overseer Kvotai is a dremora.
Mechanics
High Overseer Kvotai uses a mace for melee attacks and magic for other damage. He summons a bone colossus and a flesh atronach to aid him in battle. High Overseer Kvotai also creates a rune on the ground that will grasp you restricting your movement. While he is easily defeated, there are also nearby ogrims that may join the battle.
Zilbash the Deceiver
Zilbash the Deceiver is an Orc member of the Oathbound clan and serves as the group boss for this public dungeon. Zilbash does not appear until two rounds of banekins and clanfears in the room have been defeated.
Mechanics
Zilbash the Deceiver uses a battle axe for melee damage. His heavy attacks create a large cone-shaped aoe and cause significant damage. Avoid the aoes when possible. He is easily defeated.
Achievements

Defeating all the champions in Obsidian Scar will reward you with the Obsidian Scar Conquerer achievement.

Defeating Zilbash the Deceiver will reward you with the Obsidian Scar Group Event achievement.

Defeating three of the champions in Obsidian Scar will reward you with the Obsidian Scar Vanquisher achievement.
What Is A Group Dungeon?
Group Dungeons are designed to be four-player areas. Dungeons in ESO feature large groups of enemies that are tougher to defeat and have multiple bosses. These bosses pose unique challenges and often feature special mechanics that require teamwork. Each dungeon has a quest with a skill point rewarded for its completion. Dungeons also offer special gear sets that cannot be found in the overland areas of Tamriel. Dungeons can be completed in normal mode, veteran mode, or veteran hardmode. Dungeons completed in any of the veteran modes will reward you with a Monster Helm – a unique piece of armor for the head. On your map, dungeons appear with a blackened square-shaped icon with a plus sign. Once the dungeon is completed (by defeating the bosses), the dungeon icon turns white.

What Is A World Boss?
World bosses are powerful enemies often with their own unique abilities. They sometimes require groups of players to overcome. World bosses in DLC zones are significantly harder than other base game bosses.

On your map, world bosses appear with a blackened skull and crossed swords icon. Once the world boss is defeated, the world boss icon turns white.

Aesar the Hatespinner at Aesar’s’ Web
Travel west from the Tamrith Camp Wayshrine to locate Aesar’s Web.
Mechanics Notes
Aesar the Hatespinner is a giant spider. He is accompanied by several other smaller spiders called broodlings. Aesar spits poisons, bites, and creates an aoe that encases your feet in webs restricting your movement. Focus on removing the smaller spiders first. Avoid the aoes when possible. Ranged attacks work well. Aesar is easily defeated.

The first time you defeat this world boss you will earn the Hatespinner Hunter achievement.
Stroda gra-Drom at East-Rock Landing
Travel east from the Boralis Wayshrine to the little island called East-Rock Landing.
Mechanics Notes
Stroda gra-Drom is an Orc using an inferno staff that is accompanied by several Bitterhand soldiers. She creates an electrical aoe but it has a safe zone in the middle. Stroda bows her head to prepare for a heavy attack that can be interrupted. Be aware that there are other groups of Bitterhand soldiers nearby that may join the battle. Focus on the soldiers first, and avoid the aoes when possible.

The first time you defeat this world boss you will earn the Stroda’s Assassin achievement.
Magdelena at Magdelena’s Haunt
Travel east from the Hoarfrost Wayshrine to locate Magdelena’s Haunt.
Mechanics Notes
Magdelena is a hag that uses magical attacks. She continuously summons Zombies to aid her in battle. Zombies have heavy attacks but also create a cone-shaped aoe where they vomit poison. Magdelena uses magical attacks and also creates a very large aoe that inflicts fear slowing your movement. Avoid the aoes when possible and focus on Magdelena. When she is defeated, the Zombies will disappear. Ranged attacks work well.

Calixte Darkblood, Louna Darkblood, and Lyse Darkblood at Old Kalgon’s Keep
Travel northeast from the Hoarfrost Wayshrine to locate the ruined Old Kalgon’s Keep.
Mechanics Notes
The Darkblood sisters, Louna, Calixte, and Lyse are a formidable foe at Old Kalgon’s Keep. Lyse uses a sword and shield and is the most aggressive. Calixta uses an inferno staff for fiery ranged aoe attacks. Louna also uses a staff for attacks but will heal her sisters. This trio will also summons Darkblood enemies to aid them in battle. Focus on Lyse first. Be sure to interrupt Louna when she is attempting to heal the others. Avoid the aoes when possible.

Desuuga the Siren at Siren’s Cove
Travel north from the Northpoint Wayshrine to locate Siren’s Cove.
Mechanics Notes
Desuuga the Siren is a nereid. She uses magical attacks and water spouts to inflict damage. She creates an aoe under your feet then slams to the ground causing damage by waterspouts which can knock you off your feet. Desuuga fights alone and is easily defeated.

Menhir Stoneskin at Valeguard Tower
Travel northeast from the Tamrith Camp Wayshrine to locate the Valeguard Tower.
Mechanics Notes
Menhir Stoneskin is a large gargoyle accompanied by Carved warriors at Valeguard Tower. The Carved Mages heal their allies but can be interrupted and should be defeated first. Menhir uses heavy swipes with his claws and wings and also yells which can stun you. Focus on the Carved warriors first and avoid the aoes when possible.

What Is A Wayshrine?
Wayshrines are shrines that were built to honor the Divines by being a safe haven point where players can revive if you die while adventuring in Tamriel. Once you visit a wayshrine, it becomes available on your map for you to use to fast travel at no cost. You can also travel to any unlocked wayshrine from anywhere in Tamriel for a price paid in gold. This price reduces with time and also can be reduced by champion point allocations. Each zone begins with one available wayshrine.

On your map, wayshrines will appear with a blackened wayshrine icon when you are close to its location. Once the wayshrine has been visited, the icon turns white.

What Is A Mundus Stone?
Mundus Stones are large, stone pillars that can be activated which creates a unique permanent player buff. Each player can choose any Mundus Stone but only one Mundus ‘blessing’ (also known as ‘boon’) is permitted at a time. For more information, check out this article.

On your map, mundus stones will appear in your compass as you near it with a blackened icon. Once visited, regardless if you used it, it will turn white and appear on your map permanently.

What Is A Skyshard?
Skyshards are glowing crystals that provide you with 1/3 of a skill point. Collecting 3 skyshards grants you 1 skill point which can then be used for abilities and/or passives.

On your map, skyshard will appear with a blackened skyshard icon when you are close to its location. Once the skyshard has been collected, the icon turns white but then disappears from your map.

Once you collect all the skyshard from the zone, you will earn the Auridon Skyshard Hunter achievement.

One skyshard is also found in each of the delves and one in the public dungeon. Maps with exact locations are provided in those sections.
What Is A World Event?
World Events, also commonly called Dark Anchors or Dolmens, are huge hooks sent by Molag Bal. They hook into the ground with giant chains. Dark Anchors spawn daedric and undead guardians. As you defeat the enemies, anchor pinions will appear around the dolmen and need to be released. After all the pinions are released, a final wave of enemies (usually featuring a few smaller enemies and one larger mini-boss) appear. Once the final wave is defeated one final anchor pinion will appear and releasing it will cause a treasure chest to appear. This chest contains gold and other loot but also contains a jewelry piece from the area.

On your map, world events will appear with a blackened world event icon when you are close to its location. Once the event has been defeated, the icon turns white.

On your map, when a world event is active, the crossed swords icon will appear and flash behind the world event icon.
What Is A Lore Book?
Shalidor’s Library is a collection of lore books in Tamriel. Reading lore books within this collection increases your Mages Guild rank.

On your map, lore books will appear in your compass as you near it. Once collected, it will disappear. You can track your collection under the zone guide.

What Is A Survey Map?
Survey Maps (also called Survey Reports) are maps to a collection of six high-yield harvest nodes that only exist if you have the corresponding survey. Some maps can be sold, some are character bound, and others only allow you to maintain one in your inventory. If you have multiples of the same map, the nodes do respawn but you must go a short distance away for it to do so. If you go away and the nodes do not respawn, then you haven’t traveled far enough.
Survey Map locations do NOT appear on your map. You can slot the maps for quick access to compare your location. The following icons will be used to denote the type of survey on this map.

What Is A Treasure Map?
Treasure Maps are rewards that show the location of special chests that can only be seen when you have the map in your inventory. You must travel to the specific location, dig the dirt mound, and then a chest will appear for you.
Treasure Map locations do NOT appear on your map. You can slot the maps for quick access to compare your location.

This map uses the chest icon to denote the location.
Rivenspire Treasure Map Locations
- Treasure Map I – next to a tree by the water’s edge
- Treasure Map II – next to a ruined stone pillar covered in spider webs
- Treasure Map III – around some rocks at the top of a waterfall
- Treasure Map IV – near the ruined wall to the left of the dungeon entrance
- Treasure Map V – on some grass next to the base of a waterfall
- Treasure Map VI – beside the ruined wall at the water’s edge
- Treasure Map CE – on the beach next to a large rock
Rivenspire Summary
In addition to the main quest line, Rivenspire also offers many side quests, you can acquire zone-specific armor sets, visit points of interest, and visit striking locales.
Rivenspire offers a jagged rocky landscape dotted with lowlands. Wolves, wraiths, giant bats, and spiders provide local hunters with a steady income. Stornhelm is centrally located and is the capital city.
