Eastmarch Area Description
One of the “Old Holds,” Eastmarch was among the first regions of Skyrim settled by the Nords when they arrived from Atmora. Its capital, Windhelm, is the oldest continuously inhabited human settlement in Tamriel, and was founded by Ysgramor himself.

What Is A Crafting Set Station?
A crafting set station is a crafting area that allows you to craft a specific set piece of armor. Often there are additional requirements, like a number of traits that must be researched before you can make an item of a specific set. While you can make generic pieces at crafting set stations, these are the only areas where you can the specific set that is listed. There is one exception – attunable crafting tables (which are ‘tuned’ to replicate set stations) can be obtained and placed in houses for use.

On your map, crafting set stations appear with a blackened crafting icon when you are close to a location. Once the set station has been visited, the icon turns white.

How To Obtain Overland Set Pieces
Players are rewarded for each boss kill with item/items from that boss’s loot table.
- Delve bosses drop a waist, foot, or another unique item piece.
- Overland World Bosses drop a head, chest, leg, weapon, or unique item piece.
- Public dungeon bosses drop a shoulder, hand, weapon, or unique item piece.
- Chests at Dark Anchors or Dolmens drop a jewelry set piece.
Even with Curated Item Set Drops, bosses with a specific loot table will only drop curated items from their own loot table. Treasure chests have a chance to grant any set piece from the zone they are found in. Click here to learn more about curated set drops.

What Is A Delve?
A delve in The Elder Scrolls Online is in essence a small dungeon. Delves usually contain a few enemies, at least one ‘boss’, and a skyshard. Delves can generally be completed solo. If you are a new player, you may want to explore delves with a friend. Most delves have an associated quest that you can get just inside or near the entrance. This quest is more a side story to the main quest of the area but does offer rewards for completing it.

On your map, delves appear with a blackened single torch. Once the delve is completed (by defeating the boss or bosses), the delve icon turns white.

The Bastard’s Tomb
This worn-out old copper and turquoise mine has an evil reputation among the locals of southern Eastmarch, though no one will explain exactly why they feel they must avoid it. Perhaps the true reason has been lost, leaving only a general dread.
The Bastard’s Tomb Location
The Bastard’s Tomb is a tomb in the southeastern region of Eastmarch. Travel west from Jorunn’s Stand Wayshrine to find this delve.

Inside The Bastard’s Tomb
The Bastard’s Tomb is inhabited with draugr and Stormfist soldiers. This delve has one level, one boss, and one skyshard as notated on the map.
Agnenor the Blade
Agnenor the Blade uses dual-wield for attacks. She is also accompanied by a Stormfist Striker and a Stormfist Healer. When Agnenor prepares for a heavy attack, she momentarily disappears although you can still see thing yellow streaks. Focus on the mender first, as she will heal your enemies. These three are easily defeated.
The Chill Hollow
The long-lost Snow Elves that once inhabited Skyrim were reputedly immune to cold and could live comfortably in ice caverns. They are said to have bred a species of snow-cedar so hardy it can live even within the heart of a glacier.

The Chill Hollow is a cave located in the northeastern region of Eastmarch. Travel northeast from the Kynesgrove Wayshrine to find the Chill Hollow. While there is no specific quest for this delve, there is still much to explore.

Inside The Chill Hollow
The Chill Hollow is inhabited by wisps, wispmothers, and atronachs. This delve has one level, one boss, and one skyshard as notated on the map.
Nomeg Chal
Nomeg Chal is a large frost atronach. He uses heavy hits and ground pounds creating aoes that can freeze your feet slowing your movement. Avoid the aoes when possible. Ranged attacks work well.
The Frigid Grotto
Morachellis Hag-Husband speculated that a troll’s third eye was used to view, not the mundane world, but the overworld of spirits coterminous with our own. However, Morachellis also believed that horkers grew into mammoths, and that fire could be classed as a beverage.

The Frigid Grotto is a cave in the southwestern region of Eastmarch. Travel west from the Fort Amol Wayshrine to find the Frigid Grotto. While there is no specific quest for this delve, there is still much to explore.

The Frigid Grotto is inhabited by bears and trolls. This delve has one level, one boss, and one skyshard as notated on the map.
Frostbite Mangler
The Frostbite Mangler is a large troll. He uses heavy hits and ground pounds to inflict damage. The ground pounds create aoes and can stun you. Avoid the aoes when possible. Ranged attacks work well.
Icehammer’s Vault
The Icehammers were a famous clan of warriors who fought long and well during the reign of Hoag Merkiller—so well that King Hoag made the head of the clan one of his thanes. But the clan fell on evil times thereafter, and the Icehammer name died out in the last quarter of the First Era.

Icehammer’s Vault is a ruin in the eastern region of Eastmarch. Travel slightly southeast from the Kynesgrove Wayshrine to find the delve.

Inside Icehammer’s Vault
Icehammer’s Vault is inhabited by bears and draugr warriors including archers, soldiers, and scourges. This delve has one level, one boss, and one skyshard as notated on the map.
Thane Icehammer
Thane Icehammer is a draugr thundermaul. He uses melee attacks with a hammer. He is accompanied by two draugr soldiers. Defeat the soldiers first. Thane has heavy-hitting attacks and creates a large circular aoe. Avoid the aoe when possible.
Old Sord’s Cave

Eorim The Hammer
Eorim the Hammer is a female Nord and is accompanied by Gadof and Braxek. She uses a hammer for heavy melee attacks and create large aoes with her swings. Eorim and her companions are easily defeated.
Stormcrag Crypt
Grunilda Stormcrag was one of the original Five Hundred Companions who landed on the shores of Skyrim with Ysgramor. After the Snow Elves were defeated, she established her clan holdings on the northern slopes of the Icewind Peaks.

Stormcrag Crypt is a tomb in the southeastern region of Eastmarch. Travel south from the Jorunn’s Stand Wayshrine to find Stormcrag Crypt. While there is no specific quest for this delve, there is still much to explore.

Inside Stormcrag Crypt
Stormcrag Crypt is inhabited by Draugr and ghosts. This delve has one level, one boss, and one skyshard as notated on the map.
Deathknight Stormcrag
The Deathknight Stormcrag is a draugr and is accompanied by a Draugr Wight and a Draugr Soldier. The wight uses a staff for ranged attacks and the soldier uses a greatsword. Deathknight Stormcrag attacks with a sword and shield. The wight creates large aoes. The three are all easily defeated.
What Is A Public Dungeon?
Public dungeons are a type of dungeon that is non-instanced. This means that it can be accessed by anyone at any time. These dungeons are more difficult than delves. Public Dungeons contain at least one skyshard and often a group challenge that rewards a skill point. Each public dungeon also offers its own quests and achievements.

On your map, public dungeons appear with a blackened cave. Once the public dungeon is completed (by defeating the bosses/mini-bosses and all associated quests), the public dungeon icon turns white.

Hall of the Dead
Windhelm, like most Nord cities, has a Hall of the Dead where bodies are interred, overseen by a Priest of Orkey who ensures that corpses are properly consecrated and cared for.
Hall of the Dead Location
The Hall of the Dead is in the city of Windhelm. Travel slightly southwest of the Windhelm Wayshrine to find the building which is Hall of the Dead.
Hall of the Dead Quests
Lost Crown
Inside the Hall of the Dead you will encounter Malana. She asks you to defeat Lodorr and find Lodorr’s Crown.
Lodorr is found in a crypt and uses a staff to attack. He creates a partial wall and shoots from behind it offering him some protection. He is easily defeated.
Once Lodorr is defeated, Malana asks that you defeat Ulfnir Ice-Blood. Ulfnir attacks with a battle axe and has heavy hits. He is easily defeated.
Taking the stairs near his thorne will give you access to the dungeon’s only skyshard.
Completing Lost Crown
Malana turns out to be an enemy and you must defeat her. She casts protective runes and summons ghosts to fear you or knock you down. She is easily defeated.
The spirit of Lodorr appears and the quest is completed rewarding you with gold and Lodoor’s Crown which is not part of an armor set.
Dungeon Bosses
Ghost Haven Bay has 6 bosses. To complete the dungeon, you will need to complete the quest and defeat all 6 bosses.

Reynir the Destroyer
Reynir the Destoryer is a draugr nulifier. He is the group boss for this dungeon. You must first defeat three waves of other draugrs before he will appear.
Mechanics
Reynir the Destoryer uses a battle axe for melee attacks. He casts a large circular aoe and occasionally it has an safe middle spot. The aoe does a minimum of damage. Reynir is easily defeated.
Achievements

Defeating all the champions in the Hall of the Dead will reward you with the Hall of the Dead Conqueror achievement.

Defeating Reynir the Destroyer and his minions will reward you with the Hall of the Dead Group Event achievement.

Defeating three of the champions in Hall of the Dead will reward you with the Hall of the Dead Vanquisher achievement.
What Is A Group Dungeon?
Group Dungeons are designed to be four-player areas. Dungeons in ESO feature large groups of enemies that are tougher to defeat and have multiple bosses. These bosses pose unique challenges and often feature special mechanics that require teamwork. Each dungeon has a quest with a skill point rewarded for its completion. Dungeons also offer special gear sets that cannot be found in the overland areas of Tamriel. Dungeons can be completed in normal mode, veteran mode, or veteran hardmode. Dungeons completed in any of the veteran modes will reward you with a Monster Helm – a unique piece of armor for the head. On your map, dungeons appear with a blackened square-shaped icon with a plus sign. Once the dungeon is completed (by defeating the bosses), the dungeon icon turns white.

What Is A World Boss?
World bosses are powerful enemies often with their own unique abilities. They sometimes require groups of players to overcome. World bosses in DLC zones are significantly harder than other base game bosses.

On your map, world bosses appear with a blackened skull and crossed swords icon. Once the world boss is defeated, the world boss icon turns white.

Ammanbani at Ammanbani’s Pride
Travel southeast from Jorunn’s Stand using the road then head east toward the Bastard’s Tomb delve. Ammabani’s Pride is up the mountain from the Bastard’s Tomb.
Mechanics Notes
Ammanbani is a sable cat and is accompanied by a group of other sable cats that assist him in battle. Focus on the other cats first, as they are quickly defeated. Ammanbani bites, claws, and roars which can fear you in place. He is easily defeated.
Achievement Earned

The first time you defeat this world boss you will earn the Ammanbani Ambusher achievement.
Vivien Armene at Dragon Mound
Travel east from the Fort Morvunskar Wayshrine to find the burial site called Dragon Mound.
Mechanics Notes
Vivien Armene uses ranged magical attacks and summons Dreugars and Bone Colossus to help her in battle. She also creates a rune on the ground that can pin you if you enter it. Focus on the adds when they appear. Vivien is easily defeated.
Achievement Earned

The first time you defeat this world boss you will earn the Armene’s Bane achievement.
Mannskadi and Ulgorus at Dragon’s Hallow
Travel south of the Wittestadr Wayshrine to find Dragon’s Hallow.
Mechanics Notes
Mannskadi is a mammoth and Ulgorus is a giant. Ulgorus is slow-moving but has very heavy hits with his club. Mannskadi is the more aggressive of the two using his huge tusks to cause heavy damage. Focus on Mannskadi first then Ulgorus.
Achievement Earned

The first time you defeat this world boss you will earn the Mannskadi Mauler achievement.
Rageclaw at Rageclaw’s Den
Travel west of the Voljar Meadery Wayshrine to find Rageclaw’s Den.
Mechanics Notes
Rageclaw is a werewolf who summons other werewolves to aid him in battle. He has heavy-hitting swipes and can fear you which limits your movement. Focus on the other werewolves first while avoiding Rageclaw’s swipes. You may be knocked to the ground from time to time inside a cone aoe while a werewolf tries to feast on you. You can break free if you have the stamina.
Achievement Earned

The first time you defeat this world boss you will earn the Rageclaw Hunter achievement.
Olveidi the Ratmaster at Ratmaster’s Prowl
Travel east from the Wittestadr Wayshrine to find Ratmaster’s Prowl. It is a small camp.
Mechanics Notes
Olveidi the Ratmaster is a Nord vampire. She uses a bow for ranged attacks. Olveidi also uses arrow sprays and volleys for additional damage. She can be interrupted before launching the volleys. She summons skeevers throughout the battle. Olveidi can also place a bear trap which will restrict your movement. Focus on the skeevers that are more annoying than damaging.
Achievement Earned

The first time you defeat this world boss you will earn the Ratmaster Crusher achievement.
Beralagr at Swiftblade’s Camp
Travel south from the Jorunn’s Stand Wayshrine to find Swiftblade’s Camp.
Mechanics Notes
Beralagr is a large sleeping white bear. He is accompanied by Guring the Swiftblade, Hadendor, and Burri. Focus on the others first, leaving the bear for last. Beralagr does heavy damage with his swipes and slams the ground in a cone aoe that can knock you down. Avoid the aoes when possible. Ranged attacks work well.
Achievement Earned

The first time you defeat this world boss you will earn the Beralagr Hunter achievement.
What Is A Wayshrine?
Wayshrines are shrines that were built to honor the Divines by being a safe haven point where players can revive if you die while adventuring in Tamriel. Once you visit a wayshrine, it becomes available on your map for you to use to fast travel at no cost. You can also travel to any unlocked wayshrine from anywhere in Tamriel for a price paid in gold. This price reduces with time and also can be reduced by champion point allocations. Each zone begins with one available wayshrine.

On your map, wayshrines will appear with a blackened wayshrine icon when you are close to its location. Once the wayshrine has been visited, the icon turns white.
What Is A Mundus Stone?
Mundus Stones are large, stone pillars that can be activated which creates a unique permanent player buff. Each player can choose any Mundus Stone but only one Mundus ‘blessing’ (also known as ‘boon’) is permitted at a time. For more information, check out this article.

On your map, mundus stones will appear in your compass as you near it with a blackened icon. Once visited, regardless if you used it, it will turn white and appear on your map permanently.

What Is A Skyshard?
Skyshards are glowing crystals that provide you with 1/3 of a skill point. Collecting 3 skyshards grants you 1 skill point which can then be used for abilities and/or passives. High Isle and Amenos offers 18 total skyshards.

On your map, skyshard will appear with a blackened skyshard icon when you are close to its location. Once the skyshard has been collected, the icon turns white but then disappears from your map.

Once you collect all the skyshard from the zone, you will earn the Reaper’s March Skyshard Hunter achievement.

There are a total of 16 Skyshards in Reaper’s March.
Skyshard #1 – between the big rock and a small rock
Skyshard #2 – behind the back of the ruined temple
Skyshard #3 – in the middle of the platform in front of some burnt crates
Skyshard #4 – behind a ruined pillar next to the cliff
Skyshard #5 – under the bridge
Skyshard #6 – behind the ruin’s wall on the edge of the cliff
Skyshard #7 – on top of the rock next to the Mages Guild
Skyshard #8 – next to a ruined wall backing onto the cliff
Skyshard #9 – surrounded by some large rocks and a ruined wall
One skyshard is also found in each of the delves and one in the public dungeon. Maps with exact locations are provided in those sections.
What Is A World Event?
World Events, also commonly called Dark Anchors or Dolmens, are huge hooks sent by Molag Bal. They hook into the ground with giant chains. Dark Anchors spawn daedric and undead guardians. As you defeat the enemies, anchor pinions will appear around the dolmen and need to be released. After all the pinions are released, a final wave of enemies (usually featuring a few smaller enemies and one larger mini-boss) appear. Once the final wave is defeated one final anchor pinion will appear and releasing it will cause a treasure chest to appear. This chest contains gold and other loot but also contains a jewelry piece from the area.

On your map, world events will appear with a blackened world event icon when you are close to its location. Once the event has been defeated, the icon turns white.

On your map, when a world event is active, the crossed swords icon will appear and flash behind the world event icon.
What Is A Lore Book?
Shalidor’s Library is a collection of lore books in Tamriel. Reading lore books within this collection increases your Mages Guild rank.

On your map, lore books will appear in your compass as you near it. Once collected, it will disappear. You can track your collection under the zone guide.

What Is A Survey Map?
Survey Maps (also called Survey Reports) are maps to a collection of six high-yield harvest nodes that only exist if you have the corresponding survey. Some maps can be sold, some are character bound, and others only allow you to maintain one in your inventory. If you have multiples of the same map, the nodes do respawn but you must go a short distance away for it to do so. If you go away and the nodes do not respawn, then you haven’t traveled far enough.
Survey Map locations do NOT appear on your map. You can slot the maps for quick access to compare your location. The following icons will be used to denote the type of survey on this map.

What Is A Treasure Map?
Treasure Maps are rewards that show the location of special chests that can only be seen when you have the map in your inventory. You must travel to the specific location, dig the dirt mound, and then a chest will appear for you.
