What Is A Crafting Set Station?

A crafting set station is a crafting area that allows you to craft a specific set piece of armor.  Often there are additional requirements, like a number of traits that must be researched before you can make an item of a specific set.  While you can make generic pieces at crafting set stations, these are the only areas where you can the specific set that is listed.  There is one exception – attunable crafting tables (which are ‘tuned’ to replicate set stations) can be obtained and placed in houses for use.

ESO Map Icon Crafting Set Stations

On your map, crafting set stations appear with a blackened crafting icon when you are close to a location.  Once the set station has been visited, the icon turns white.

How To Obtain Overland Set Pieces

Players are rewarded for each boss kill with item/items from that boss’s loot table.

  • Delve bosses drop a waist, foot, or another unique item piece.
  • Overland World Bosses drop a head, chest, leg, weapon, or unique item piece.
  • Public dungeon bosses drop a shoulder, hand, weapon, or unique item piece.
  • Chests at Dark Anchors or Dolmens drop a jewelry set piece.

Even with Curated Item Set Drops, bosses with a specific loot table will only drop curated items from their own loot table.  Treasure chests have a chance to grant any set piece from the zone they are found in.  Click here to learn more about curated set drops.

What Is A Delve?

A delve in The Elder Scrolls Online is in essence a small dungeon.  Delves usually contain a few enemies, at least one ‘boss’, and a skyshard.  Delves can generally be completed solo.   If you are a new player, you may want to explore delves with a friend.  Most delves have an associated quest that you can get just inside or near the entrance.  This quest is more a side story to the main quest of the area but does offer rewards for completing it.

ESO Delve Icon Map Image

On your map, delves appear with a blackened single torch.  Once the delve is completed (by defeating the boss or bosses), the delve icon turns white.

Mechanics Notes

You will find the Star-Gazer Priest at the Anka-Ra Burial Sites.  They will tell you they need your help to protect them while they perform a ritual.  The Priest then begins and enemies appear marching toward the priest.  The goal is to keep the Preist safe.  He/She does have a health meter.

In the beginning, a wave of Anka-Ra soldiers and archers appear.  The archers can damage the Priest with ranged attacks so it’s best to defeat them first.  The second wave of enemies has two of the four gargoyle statues animate and walk toward the Priest.  While they do not fight back, you must destroy them before they reach the Priest.  The third wave brings more Anka-Ra enemies and the remaining two gargoyles animate.  Again, these must all be defeated before they reach the Priest.

The last battle is with the Guardian of Tarish-Zi.  It will spawn once all the other enemies are defeated.  The Guardian uses dual-wield daggers to cause melee damage.  Ranged attacks work well.

While it’s not impossible to hand these burial sites alone, your timing must be excellent or your Priest’s health bar will dwindle.  If the Priest dies, then you must start all over.

ESO In-Game Icon Achievement Craglorn 002

Defunct Nirncrux Mine

There are five Iron Orc Nirncrux Mines in Craglorn.  The nearest wayshrine easily accesses each of these.  Each of the five share mechanics.

Mechanics Notes

The mine is surrounded by trolls.  Welwas and Iron Orc enemies will join the fight.  There are also three burning barrels that you can kick.  The barrels roll to the mineshaft and explode.  Additional enemies come from the mineshaft so a well-placed kick could help.

The final ‘boss’ is a Trol Colossus.  He is like any other troll just bigger.  He swipes and stomps and throws rocks.  When you’ve defeated him, a treasure chest will appear and you will earn a Physical Resistance buff while in Craglorn for 60 minutes.

Adamant Anomaly

There are five Magical Anomalies in Craglorn.  The nearest wayshrine easily accesses each of these.  Each of the five share mechanics.

Mechanics Notes

To begin this battle you will need to destroy the Focus Crystal.  Spellfiends and atronachs will appear once you start attacking the crystal.  The first wave has frost atronachs.  The second wave has storm atronachs.  When the Focus Crystal is destroyed, the final ‘boss’ will appear.  It is an Air Atronach.

Like other air atronachs, this boss has multiple arms all carrying swords.  It will slash and spin causing a great deal of melee damage.  The Air Atronach will also fold in on itself then burst outward causing more damage.  It is best to have everything else defeated before the Air Atronach appears.  Ranged attacks can work well. Avoid the slashing when possible.

When everything is defeated, a magical aura appears.  Using this will give you a Magicka Attunement buff that increases your spell resistance while in Craglorn for 60 minutes.

What Is A Wayshrine?

What Is A Survey Map?

Survey Maps (also called Survey Reports) are maps to a collection of six high-yield harvest nodes that only exist if you have the corresponding survey.  Some maps can be sold, some are character bound, and others only allow you to maintain one in your inventory.  If you have multiples of the same map, the nodes do respawn but you must go a short distance away for it to do so.  If you go away and the nodes do not respawn, then you haven’t traveled far enough.

Survey Map locations do NOT appear on your map.  You can slot the maps for quick access to compare your location.  The following icons will be used to denote the type of survey on this map.
