Malubeth the Scourger – Wayrest Sewers II Boss

Overview

Malubeth the Scourger is encountered in Wayrest Sewers II . The fight can quickly become dangerous if the group does not react correctly to Malubeth's Lift mechanic.

DPS and healers should spread out while the tank holds Malubeth still on the platform or in the middle of the room. The tank should keep her facing away from the rest of the group throughout the fight.

Mechanics

Ground AOE – Throughout the fight, Malubeth will place multiple large AOEs on the ground. These are easy to see, so stay out of them as much as possible.

Lift – Malubeth will choose a member of the group and lift them off the ground, dealing damage over time for as long as they remain in the air. During this mechanic, Malubeth enters a purple ghost form and cannot be attacked.

The only way to release the lifted player and continue the fight is for two other group members to activate the shrines located on the left and right sides of the room. Once both shrines have been activated, Malubeth releases the player and returns to normal.

These are the same two shrines used to start the encounter. Assign two players to each side at the beginning of the fight. This ensures that regardless of which player is lifted, there should always be someone available on both sides of the room to activate the shrines.

Tips & Strategy

• Tank: Hold Malubeth still on the platform or in the middle of the room and keep her facing away from the group.
• DPS: Stay spread out, avoid the large ground AOEs and be ready to activate your assigned shrine immediately when another player is lifted.
• Healer: Stay spread from the group and keep the lifted player alive while the other group members activate the shrines.
• Everyone: Assign two players to each side of the room before the fight so both shrines can always be activated regardless of who gets lifted.
