Uulgarg The Hungry – Wayrest Sewers I Boss

Overview
Uulgarg The Hungry is encountered in Wayrest Sewers I . This fight has simple mechanics, but they can go wrong very quickly if the group loses control of the encounter.
There is a room full of enemies that should be carefully dispatched before engaging Uulgarg. Once the room is clear, the boss should be pulled down the stairs. Be careful, however, as running around the room can pull more enemies and force the group to deal with them at the same time.
Mechanics
Fear – Uulgarg will channel for 1 second and then shout, causing all group members to be feared in a random direction. You must maintain your stamina for this mechanic so you can break free immediately and get back into position.
As soon as the fear hits, all group members must break free. Positioning is important here, so keep the fight as central as possible. If the group is too spread out, recovering after the fear can quickly make the encounter messy.
Heavy Attack – This does not always happen at the same time and can sometimes feel random, but it will usually follow the Fear if you do not break free quickly enough.
Whoever has aggro, normally the tank, will be chased down and hit with a very large heavy attack. If it is blocked by the tank, or by a DPS or healer who happens to be targeted, they should survive while taking very little damage.
If you do not block this attack, you are dead. Block it and do not run away.
Whirlwind – Occasionally between the other mechanics, Uulgarg will spin his weapon around his head, causing a small physical damage-over-time AOE around himself.
This mechanic is simple to handle. Step out of the AOE rather than running away from the encounter entirely, then return to position once it is safe.
Tips & Strategy
- Tank: Keep Uulgarg as central as possible and maintain control of the fight. Block the Heavy Attack rather than trying to run away from it.
- DPS: Keep enough stamina available to break free from Fear, block the Heavy Attack if targeted, and step out of Whirlwind.
- Healer: Keep the group supported through the Fear mechanic and be ready to block the Heavy Attack if Uulgarg targets you.
- Everyone: Break free from Fear immediately, get back into position, block the Heavy Attack if targeted, and step out of Whirlwind rather than running around the room.
