Overview

Slimecraw is the first boss encountered in Wayrest Sewers I . This is a straightforward encounter with minimal mechanics, but there are still some important things to follow.

The tank should taunt Slimecraw, turn the boss away from the group, and keep it still. This keeps the fight controlled and allows the rest of the group to remain safely behind the boss.

Mechanics

Bite – This is a very standard light attack. It deals a small amount of damage and the tank can block it, but blocking it is not normally necessary.

A weaker tank may need to block these attacks, but the important part is maintaining control of Slimecraw. If these bites are hitting other members of the group, the tank should regain aggro immediately and make sure the boss remains taunted.

Tail Swipe – Slimecraw winds up a heavy attack and displays a cone-shaped AOE visual. This attack must be blocked. If you do not block it, you will be thrown across the room and the boss will chase you before following up with a Bite.

Tanks should stand their ground and block the Tail Swipe rather than trying to run away from it. The tank can take a large amount of damage if the attack is not blocked, so pay attention to the wind-up and cone.

Keeping Slimecraw still is also important. If the tank is thrown across the room or continually moves away from the attack, the boss will move with them and can be pulled out of the group’s ground-based damage abilities.

DPS and healers should remain behind Slimecraw rather than standing in front of the boss. There is no need to run around the room. Hold your position, stay behind the boss, and allow the tank to control the encounter.

Tips & Strategy

  • Tank: Taunt Slimecraw, turn the boss away from the group, and keep it still. Block the Tail Swipe instead of moving away from it.
  • DPS: Stay behind Slimecraw and maintain your damage while the tank keeps the boss stationary.
  • Healer: Stay behind the boss with the group and keep the tank supported, particularly if a Tail Swipe is not blocked.
  • Everyone: Avoid standing in front of Slimecraw. If the Tail Swipe is directed at you, block it to avoid being thrown across the room.
