High Kinlord Rilis – Banished Cells I Boss

Overview
High Kinlord Rilis is the final boss encountered in Banished Cells I . He has simple mechanics, but he hits like a steam train.
The easiest position for tanking him to start with is in the furthest corner of the room. This means the Feasts that heal him have further to travel and are easier to manage.
His attacks have somewhat random timings, but there is a window where you must pay close attention to avoid an almost guaranteed one-shot.
The tank should be able to hold him mostly on the spot. If you do move the boss, be sure to keep him inside any friendly AOE damage so he can continue to lose health. Running around the room will not help.
Mechanics
Feasts – Every few seconds a Feast, which appears as a healing orb, will spawn where the boss first started. They will float slowly towards him no matter where he is and you must kill these as fast as possible. Do not let them reach him or he will heal for massive amounts of health. He has 5 million health to start with on Hard Mode, so make sure he does not heal.
Ghost Fire – This ability is a barrage of ground-based fire AOEs. Rilis will raise his sword and place 4 pools on the ground one after another. Simply move out of them and watch your feet. Do not run away from the boss fight. Move a couple of feet at a time or dodge roll to get out of the fire.
Heavy Blow – This is his heavy attack. It uses the normal heavy attack indicator with a white or yellow flash from his body. The tank must block this. If you do not, it will deal a huge amount of damage and a DPS hit by this without blocking is almost guaranteed to be killed. It hits incredibly hard.
If you are a DPS and Heavy Blow is coming for you, be sure to block it. If you are at maximum health you may just about survive it. If not, you are dead.
Magic Bolt – This fireball-type ability is possibly his most dangerous mechanic aside from the Heavy Blow because it is powerful, fast, and very hard to avoid.
After he uses Ghost Fire or Heavy Blow, he will randomly select a player and throw a Magic Bolt at them. If you do not have solid resistances, a damage shield, or enough health, this can almost guarantee a one-shot against a DPS or healer. You must block or dodge roll this mechanic.
The safest way to stay alive is each time you see him raise his sword for Ghost Fire, or begin his Heavy Blow, hold block until you see him cast the Magic Bolt.
If Ghost Fire has already been cast, you will still need to step out of the fire while remaining ready to block.
Avoiding this mechanic is the difference between a wipe and a pass because if people die, this fight is very hard to recover from.
Tips & Strategy
- Tank: Start with High Kinlord Rilis in the furthest corner of the room and keep him as still as possible. Block Heavy Blow and keep him inside friendly AOE damage if he moves.
- DPS: Kill the Feasts as quickly as possible before they reach Rilis. Be ready to block or dodge roll Magic Bolt and move out of Ghost Fire.
- Healer: Be ready for the high incoming damage from Heavy Blow and Magic Bolt. Watch your feet during Ghost Fire and remain ready to block.
- Everyone: When Rilis raises his sword for Ghost Fire or begins Heavy Blow, be ready for the Magic Bolt that can follow. Block or dodge roll it and do not allow the Feasts to reach the boss.
