Cell Haunter – The Banished Cells I Boss

Overview
Cell Haunter is encountered in Banished Cells I . Two skeletons accompany the boss, one with a sword and board and the other with a melee weapon.
The tank should put both enemies on the boss and turn Cell Haunter away from the group. The two adds should die to AOE damage while the DPS focus on the boss.
Mechanics
Skeletons – Do not heavy attack the sword and board skeleton while it is blocking or it will knock you Off Balance. Block the heavy attacks from these enemies if you are targeted.
Magic Missile – Cell Haunter hits the tank, or whoever has aggro, with a barrage of light ice attacks, usually between 2-4 in a row. After this, one of two attacks will follow. These attacks can be blocked and do not hit the tank too hard.
Winter’s Reach – This has a cast time and can be interrupted. If it is not interrupted in time, Cell Haunter casts a small ice tornado in the target’s direction. This is why the boss must face away from the group, as other members can also be hit.
This attack hits very hard, can almost one-shot a DPS character, and will immobilize the target or targets in ice for a few seconds unless they break out.
Health Leech/Drain – Cell Haunter attaches a beam of energy to a random target and drains their health while healing itself. If it is not managed with blocks, shields, and heals, it can strip a healer or DPS player of their entire health bar.
This ability is not interruptible. The healer should focus the victim, while the targeted player should shield or heal themselves where possible. It lasts around 3-4 seconds, but the damage ticks are quite large.
Tips & Strategy
- Tank: Put both skeletons on the boss and keep Cell Haunter facing away from the group.
- DPS: Focus Cell Haunter while the two adds die to AOE damage. Interrupt Winter’s Reach when possible.
- Healer: Focus anyone targeted by Health Leech/Drain as the damage ticks are quite large.
- Everyone: Keep behind the boss to avoid the Ice Tornado and block heavy attacks if targeted.
