Vila Theran – Fungal Grotto II Final Boss

Vila Theran Boss - Fungal Grotto II

Overview

Vila Theran is the final boss of Fungal Grotto II. The fight is straightforward but punishes poor positioning and lack of coordination. Work together, stay grouped, and respond to each phase correctly to control the battlefield.

The healer should keep the group topped up at all times, the tank must maintain taunt, and everyone should stay together — this fight rewards discipline and teamwork.

Mechanics

Light Attacks – Vila’s basic strikes hit extremely hard, especially against DPS or healers. The tank must hold taunt at all times.

Beams – At intervals, Vila raises her staff and links beams to each player, draining their Health rapidly. The group should stack tightly so healers can easily keep everyone alive with burst heals and shields. This phase requires full focus from the healer and tank to survive. If you want to take NO damage from this mechanic, you can hide inside the purple bubble, BUT that does affect hard mode (read below).

Teleport and Black Holes – After each beam phase, Vila will teleport to three random players one after another, dropping a black hole at each location. Standing in or near a black hole deals lethal damage. Stay grouped so all the black holes stack together in one area rather than spreading across the room.

If the group scatters, the arena will quickly fill with black holes and cause an unavoidable wipe. The tactic is simple: stay grouped, let her teleport and place the black holes, then shift together to the opposite side of the room once she finishes the sequence.

Beam + Teleport Combination – Toward the end of the fight, Vila may chain these two phases more quickly. Keep communication clear and maintain awareness of black hole placement while continuing to heal through beams.

Hard Mode – This boss has a Hard Mode, but it does not require a scroll. During the beam phase, a large protection bubble appears in the room. Entering this bubble will protect you from damage but immediately disables Hard Mode. To activate and maintain Hard Mode, no player may enter the bubble for the entire fight. If anyone steps inside, Hard Mode is canceled for that run.

Staying outside the bubble means your group must fully heal through the beam phase without protection. This version of the fight is purely a test of coordination, healing strength, and discipline — not extra mechanics.

Tips & Strategy

  • Tank: Maintain taunt and position Vila away from the group. Use defensive ultimates during beam phases if needed.
  • DPS: Stack tightly during beams and focus damage between teleport phases. Do not separate from the healer.
  • Healer: Prioritize burst healing and shields during beams. Keep an eye on black hole zones and reposition the group carefully.
  • Everyone: Never run inside the protection bubble if you want Hard Mode active. Stay together to control black hole placement.
