Regg’r Dark-Dawn – Fungal Grotto II Boss
Overview
Regg’r Dark-Dawn is a straightforward fight but can go wrong if players lose control of positioning. The room contains several adds that can be completely avoided if the group fights the boss in the middle without running around.
If players panic or move unnecessarily, nearby enemies will join the fight, adding stuns and extra chaos. Enter the room slowly, stay centered, and maintain awareness.
The tank should turn Regg’r away from the group and hold him steady. The group must stand behind the boss — and stay still. Proper positioning makes this one of the easiest encounters in the dungeon.
Mechanics
Whirlwind – Regg’r spins his weapon around his head, dealing high AoE damage to anyone nearby. Simply step out of the circle. The AoE is small — there’s no need to run around the room. Moving too far risks pulling additional enemies into the fight.
Heavy Attack – A strong single-target hit that must be blocked. Failing to block will cause a knockback that can accidentally pull surrounding adds. Blocking reduces this to minimal damage, so don’t miss it.
Drain – Regg’r raises his weapon and channels for about 5 seconds, rapidly draining Magicka from the entire group while dealing damage. This mechanic is especially dangerous for Magicka builds. Keep resources up by performing heavy attacks during the fight, or you’ll quickly run dry.
Tips & Strategy
- Tank: Pull him to the center, face away from group, and block every Heavy Attack. Keep him still.
- DPS: Don’t move unless avoiding Whirlwind. Heavy attack regularly to sustain Magicka during Drain.
- Healer: Watch resource management during Drain. Keep HoTs running in case of panic AoE hits.
- Everyone: Keep calm, don’t kite him around, and avoid aggroing side adds — they’re completely optional.
