Clatterclaw – Fungal Grotto I Boss

Clatterclaw Boss - Fungal Grotto I

Overview

Clatterclaw is a straightforward fight in Fungal Grotto I. The boss himself hits hard but follows a predictable pattern. The real challenge comes from his constant mudcrab spawns — if your group lacks area damage or crowd control, the fight can spiral quickly.

The tank should hold the boss steady while DPS and healers stay behind or to the side. The group must maintain composure when the mudcrabs appear and burn them down quickly with AOE.

Mechanics

Mudcrab Swarm – Every 10 seconds or so, Clatterclaw spawns a wave of 8–10 small mudcrabs. They behave just like the swarms encountered earlier in the dungeon but appear continuously during the boss fight. If not dealt with, they’ll overrun the group while Clatterclaw keeps attacking.

Heavy Attacks – Clatterclaw’s primary attacks are strong melee hits. Tanks should keep him still and block these while DPS and healers remain out of his face. These attacks are predictable but can punish players who aren’t paying attention.

To handle the mudcrab waves, use any form of crowd control or immobilization (such as Talons or Frost skills) to keep them grouped together. Burn them down quickly with AOE damage while maintaining focus on the boss.

Note: Do not run away if mudcrabs start hitting you. Stay in heals and keep your position. Running will spread the enemies around the room, making it much harder to control.

Tips & Strategy

  • Tank: Keep Clatterclaw as still as possible and face him away from the group. Hold aggro on both the boss and the swarms.
  • DPS: Focus on AOE damage during each swarm. Don’t chase mudcrabs — let the tank stack them up first.
  • Healer: Keep heals on the group and be prepared for light swarm pressure. Running players will make recovery much harder.
  • Everyone: Maintain control. The fight is easy as long as you don’t lose formation or panic when the adds spawn.
