Canonreeve Oraneth – Elden Hollow I Boss

Overview
Canonreeve Oraneth is the final boss encountered in Elden Hollow I . She has a lot of health and can deal a LOT of damage if players are not paying attention. The tank can taunt and hold her on the spot, but several mechanics will individually target other members of the group, so coordination is key.
The tank should hold the boss in the centre of the room while the remaining three group members stand in a triangle formation, each with their OWN space. Do NOT run around the room. Find your position and only move from it when you HAVE to.
Mechanics
Frost – Much like Lightning Form but without the visual effect, Canonreeve Oraneth will spawn a frost ability that deals very small amounts of damage over time to players standing very close to her. The damage itself is weak, but this ability indicates that her next mechanic, Poison Bolt, is coming.
Poison Bolt – This is the reason the group must remain in formation. Although the tank can maintain taunt on Canonreeve Oraneth throughout the fight, this mechanic is RANDOM and she can cast it on whoever she wants.
She will physically turn and face the player she has chosen before winding up a channelled ability and firing a Poison Bolt at them. If YOU are the target, you NEED to dodge roll as she casts it. Doing so completely avoids the damage.
If you miss the timing, the bolt will hit you for a LOT of damage while also applying a small damage-over-time effect. This can kill most DPS or healer characters if they are not paying attention. Once you have dodged the mechanic, return to your position ASAP. Do not sprint around the room.
Stun – This is a very easy mechanic to spot. Canonreeve Oraneth places a relatively small AOE on the ground either directly on a chosen player or NEAR them. Hands will emerge from the ground and pull the player into the hole, stunning them in place. The solution is simple: do not stand in it.
Skeletons – Another small AOE, similar to the Stun mechanic, will spawn four Skeleton enemies. These should be killed quickly with AOE damage while the tank attempts to grab them and place them with the boss using chains, ranged taunts or other available control.
Do not run around the room when the Skeletons appear. If controlled, they will not cause much of a problem, but panicking and running around will distract the group from the other mechanics and can risk wiping everyone. Keep coordinated and do not panic.
If the Skeletons are attacking you, simply block until the tank can grab them, or kill them quickly if that works better for your group. Be aware that the Skeletons also perform heavy attacks, so watch for them.
BLAST – This HUGE and very obvious growing AOE is simple: get out of it or die. When the AOE begins spreading, move backwards until you are outside it. As soon as it disappears, move back in again.
A tank can withstand the damage if they are tough enough, but they will be knocked back. A DPS or healer caught by the Blast will be killed in one shot.
Pay attention and, once the Blast is gone, immediately return to your assigned position. Running around will make the fight a MESS, so find your spot, only move when you have to, and then return to where you were.
Tips & Strategy
- Tank: Hold Canonreeve Oraneth in the centre of the room and control the four Skeletons when they spawn.
- DPS: Keep your assigned position, kill the Skeletons with AOE damage and dodge Poison Bolt if you are targeted.
- Healer: Maintain your own position around the boss and be ready to dodge Poison Bolt because it can randomly target you regardless of taunt.
- Everyone: Maintain the triangle formation, dodge Poison Bolt, avoid the Stun AOE and move backwards out of BLAST before immediately returning to your assigned position.
