Transmuted Hive Lord – Darkshade Caverns II Boss

Overview

Transmuted Hive Lord is encountered in Darkshade Caverns II . The boss should be taunted at all times and turned away from the group. DPS and healers should never stand in front of the boss.

The tank must also control the two Scribs that spawn alongside the boss. These enemies have important interrupt mechanics and should be controlled rather than simply killed, as killing them causes them to respawn.

Mechanics

Scrib Stuns – The two Scribs can perform Heavy Attacks which must be blocked, but the most important mechanic is their channelled ability. This can be difficult to see because of the red colour of the room, so watch them carefully and interrupt the channel whenever it begins.

If a Scrib completes its channel, it will pin a player to the ground and drain their resources. This effect is unbreakable, meaning the affected player must endure the mechanic until it finishes. Interrupting the Scribs is therefore extremely important. Killing them is not the priority because they will simply respawn.

Slam – The boss occasionally slams the ground, dealing moderate AOE damage to the group. This is not a one-shot mechanic and can be healed through, but the tank should continue maintaining taunt and keeping the boss under control.

Slam and Damage Shield – At low health, the boss enrages, gains a damage shield and begins violently slamming the floor repeatedly. The repeated damage continues until the group deals enough damage to remove the shield.

The longer the damage shield remains active, the longer the healer must keep the group alive through the repeated damage. Do not try to escape the mechanic by running away. Focus damage on the shield and remove it as quickly as possible.

Tips & Strategy

• Tank: Keep the boss taunted and facing away from the group while controlling both Scribs.
• DPS: Watch the Scribs for channels and focus the boss's damage shield when it appears at low health.
• Healer: Be prepared for sustained group damage while the boss's damage shield is active.
• Everyone: Block Scrib Heavy Attacks, interrupt their channels and do not run away during the final shield phase.
