Overview

Foreman Llothan is encountered in Darkshade Caverns I . This boss likes to move around a LOT, so positioning and controlling the room are important throughout the fight.

The tank should keep a taunt on Llothan and control the additional enemies while the group stays together. Do NOT chase the boss around the room. Pay attention to his movement, deal with the adds and avoid the poison rather than turning the fight into chaos.

Mechanics

Burst – Every so often the boss will crouch down and start charging up. He will then unleash a large AOE burst around himself. As soon as you see him crouch down, get OUT of the area and wait for the attack to finish before moving back in.

This attack can do a LOT of damage if you stay inside it, so there is no reason for the DPS or healer to stand there and take the hit. Pay attention to the boss rather than simply standing still and attacking.

Poison Vials – Llothan will run around the room throwing poison vials onto the ground. These create poison AOEs which remain in place for a period of time.

Do NOT chase him through the poison. Let him move and simply reposition when necessary. Running after the boss will spread the group around the room and can leave you standing in multiple dangerous areas for no reason.

Kwama Adds – During the fight, additional kwama enemies will spawn around the room. These should be controlled by the tank and brought together wherever possible.

The DPS should NOT start running around individually chasing every add that appears. Allow the tank to control them and use your AOE damage to kill them while continuing to damage the boss. If the group stays together and keeps everything controlled, the adds are much easier to manage.

Llothan will continue moving, throwing poison and summoning additional enemies throughout the fight. The key is to remain calm and keep the room controlled rather than following him everywhere he goes.

Tips & Strategy

  • Tank: Keep Llothan taunted, control the spawning kwama and bring the adds together where possible.
  • DPS: Let the tank control the adds and use AOE damage rather than chasing enemies around the room.
  • Healer: Stay with the group and avoid unnecessary movement through the poison.
  • Everyone: Move out when Llothan charges his Burst, stay out of the poison and do NOT chase him around the room.
