Overview

Ibelgast is encountered in Crypt of Hearts II . This boss is very simple, but adds will spawn throughout the fight based on the boss's health. The faster Ibelgast is burned, the faster those adds will enter the fight.

The tank should keep Ibelgast as central as possible while picking up the incoming enemies. Do not dance around the room, as allowing everything to spread out will quickly make the fight much harder to control.

Mechanics

Adds – Throughout the fight, adds will spawn based on Ibelgast's health. The tank should taunt and chain as many of them into the group as possible while the group also focuses on interrupting the boss. With high DPS, most of these enemies can be killed naturally with AOE damage. If the group's damage is struggling, focus the healers first before returning to Ibelgast.

At low boss health, a large Flesh Atronach will emerge from a portal and join the fight. This enemy should be focused. Its health is not particularly high, but it has a nasty heavy attack which must be blocked by whoever it targets.

AOE Circle – Ibelgast will randomly choose a player and place a LARGE circular AOE on the ground beneath them. If you are targeted, simply move out of it. The AOE is extremely easy to see and remains stationary, so there is no need to panic. Move to the side and continue the fight.

Heavy Attack – Ibelgast will wind up a HUGE heavy attack which also has a knockback. Whether you are the tank or not, if this attack is aimed at YOU, you must block it.

This attack should only target the person with aggro, meaning it should normally be aimed at the tank. If Ibelgast turns and aims the heavy attack at a DPS or healer, the tank has lost control of the boss and needs to regain aggro.

Tips & Strategy

  • Tank: Keep Ibelgast central, maintain aggro, and chain or taunt the incoming adds into the group. Pick up the Flesh Atronach quickly when it appears.
  • DPS: Use AOE damage to deal with the adds while attacking Ibelgast. If group damage is low, prioritise the healer adds and focus the Flesh Atronach when it appears.
  • Healer: Stay with the group and avoid spreading the fight around the room.
  • Everyone: Interrupt Ibelgast, move out of the large stationary AOE, and always block the heavy attack if it is aimed at you.
