Sliklenia the Songstress – Arx Corinium Boss
Overview
Sliklenia the Songstress is the third boss in Arx Corinium. This fight can be confusing for new players because it breaks the usual rule of “kill the adds first.” Sliklenia has a pet snake that must be left alive. The tank should taunt Sliklenia herself and completely ignore the snake.
Mechanics
Heavy Attack – The boss performs a heavy strike that must be blocked. If not, it will knock you down and follow up with light attacks that can easily kill a DPS or healer. The tank should always face Sliklenia away from the group to prevent cleave damage. If you have aggro, be ready to block immediately.
Scream – The main mechanic of the fight and the reason you must not kill the snake. During the fight, Sliklenia will run to a location and begin screaming, dealing constant damage to all players in the room. The correct response is to locate the snake. It will have moved to another part of the arena and coiled into a defensive stance, creating a shield dome. Step inside the shield to take zero damage from the scream. You can safely damage Sliklenia from within the shield until the phase ends. Once the scream is over, move back into position and resume the fight.
Pet Snake – The snake is KEY to this fight. Killing it will remove the shield required to survive the scream mechanic, guaranteeing a wipe. Leave the snake alive for the entire fight. The tank should focus only on controlling Sliklenia and keeping her turned away from the group.
Tips & Strategy
- Tank: Keep Sliklenia taunted and turned away from the group. Block all heavy attacks.
- DPS: Never attack the snake. Move into the shield quickly when she screams.
- Healer: Maintain healing-over-time during scream transitions and top players up before moving to the shield.
- Everyone: Follow the snake, get inside the shield, and wait for the scream to stop before resuming combat.
