Matron Ixniaa – Arx Corinium Boss
Overview
Matron Ixniaa is the fourth boss in Arx Corinium. She hits incredibly hard and fights alongside several Lamia adds. The group must control these adds carefully and avoid spreading chaos around the room. DPS and healers should stay aware of interrupts, while the tank keeps Ixniaa steady and facing away from everyone else.
Mechanics
Heavy Attack – A direct, hard-hitting strike aimed at whoever has aggro. It must be blocked every time. If the tank misses a block, they will be knocked down and take major follow-up damage. If this attack hits a DPS or healer, it will almost always result in death. If she targets the wrong person, do not run — just block and let her finish the swing. Turning your back or running only guarantees a kill.
Double Lightning Splash – Every ten seconds, Ixniaa calls down two overlapping circular AoEs on a random player. One is smaller and centered, while the other is larger and surrounds it. Players must find clear space immediately — stacking will cause multiple deaths. If you are hit by the outer AoE, it will hurt but is survivable; if you get caught in the middle circle and you’re not the tank, you will almost certainly die. Dodge or roll out fast, then get back in and continue fighting.
Tips & Strategy
- Tank: Maintain aggro at all times. Keep Ixniaa turned away from the group and block her heavy attacks.
- DPS: Clear Lamia adds first, spread for Lightning Splash, and avoid stacking on other players.
- Healer: Stay mobile and anticipate heavy damage during splash events. Be ready with burst heals after knockdowns.
- Everyone: Stay relaxed and avoid unnecessary running. Controlled movement keeps everyone alive.
