Build Overview
Nature's Bounty has always been a little different. While most tanks focus purely on survival and group support, this build was designed around stacking tank-friendly damage over time effects that eventually cause enemies to explode. It remains a fully capable tank, but it has always had one goal in mind: group everything up, lock it down, and make it go bang.
You can still play the build exactly that way today using the gear options listed in the Gear section below. However, Update 50 introduces a very interesting alternative.
❄️ Infinite Brittle
A set that originally appeared on this build years ago has returned, but this time it brings something far more valuable than explosions. As explained in my Brittle Guide , when set up correctly you can maintain 100% uptime on Minor Brittle increasing critical damage taken by enemies by 10%.
The real twist comes from the new Warden Class Mastery system. Combined with this setup, every source of Brittle now applies both Minor Brittle and Major Brittle (increased critical damage on target by 20%!) through the exact same mechanic: blocking.
Major Brittle only lasts two seconds, but because the build constantly refreshes Brittle while blocking, both effects are applied continuously in area of effect to every enemy within range. There is no special rotation to maintain and no awkward timing requirements. Simply play the tank normally and the build does the work for you.
🛡️ Why This Matters
A build is only truly valuable if it can deliver results consistently. Nature's Bounty does exactly that. Every enemy around you receives Brittle simply because you are doing what a tank already does: blocking attacks and controlling the room.
The result is permanent group support, exceptional survivability, outstanding crowd control, and the highest Brittle uptime available in the game! If you apply it, it's IMPOSSIBLE to fail it!
- 100% uptime on Minor AND Major Brittle
- Powerful crowd control and enemy management with chilled effects for brittlew between blocks
- Exceptional group support without changing your playstyle including resource and ultimate regen
- Alternative gear options for players who still want the explosions at the SAME time as applying the new buff!
Whether you choose the explosive version or the resistance debuffing version, Nature's Bounty brings debuff uptimes like NO other and your DPS players will thank you!

Nature’s Bounty is a close-range Ice-focused Warden build built around control, debuffing, group protection, and consistent damage through ground effects and status application.

Bar Swap Option:
Shimmering Shield and Gripping Shards can be swapped between bars depending on preference and encounter requirements. Both skills maintain the important Winter's Embrace passives, but some players may prefer having the immobilize available on the front bar while keeping Shimmering Shield on the back bar for emergencies and projectile-heavy mechanics.
Class Mastery
Update 50 has given us a new system called Class Mastery in The Elder Scrolls Online. If you decide to remain 100% pure class, you gain access to five unique Class Mastery passives, but can only choose two. These are the two selected for this build.

Rotation/How to Play – Nature’s Bounty
Nature's Bounty is still a tank first and foremost. There is no complicated rotation to memorize, but there are a few rules that must be followed at all times if you want the build to perform properly.
Rule number one: Never drop your taunt. Taunt lasts 15 seconds and should always be slightly overlapped. If your taunt falls off, the boss goes looking for someone else, and that usually ends badly for them.
Rule number two: Manage your Magicka. While blocking with an Ice Staff your Magicka is constantly draining, so recovery is critical. Heavy attacks are still your primary source of sustain and should be used whenever mechanics allow.
However, one of the strongest tools available to this build is BashJUST once. Focus on bashing a target that is actively attacking you. Doing so can return up to 1605 Magicka every second while maintaining block, making sustain dramatically easier once you get used to it.
Maintain Blue Betty and Elemental Blockade at all times. They contribute to sustain, status application, debuffing, and overall control. If your group already has reliable area Major Breach coverage, you can safely drop Razor Caltrops. If not, keep it active.
Keep Budding Seeds underneath yourself and the group whenever possible. The recovery, healing, and Ultimate generation all add up over the course of a fight. Likewise, Enchanted Forest can be used frequently thanks to its Ultimate refund mechanic, but remember that every tree you cast is Ultimate that is not being saved for Aggressive Warhorn.
Gripping Shards should be used when enemies need to stay put. If targets are already immobilized through Chilled and other control effects, there is no need to repeatedly cast it. Let your durations run their course and avoid unnecessary spam.
In short:
- Maintain taunt at all times.
- Maintain Blue Betty.
- Maintain Elemental Blockade.
- Maintain Razor Caltrops if your group needs Major Breach.
- Bash a target that is attacking you for Magicka return.
- Use heavy attacks whenever opportunities present themselves.
- Keep Budding Seeds active for the group.
- Use Gripping Shards when enemies need immobilizing.
- Block, control, position, and manage resources.
At first glance it can seem like there are a lot of moving parts, but most players discover the opposite. Once you stop overcasting abilities, let durations run naturally, and get comfortable with sustain management, everything falls into place. The result is one of the strongest and most unique Warden tanks available.
↑ Back to Top🏆 Champion Points – Best Slotables for the Build
Once you reach level 50, Champion Points further enhance your character through three constellations. Each tree focuses on a different aspect of gameplay, allowing you to fine-tune survivability, sustain, damage mitigation, and quality-of-life improvements.
These trees are divided into Warfare (Blue), Craft (Green), and Fitness (Red). Slotable stars from each tree provide powerful passive bonuses once unlocked.

- Unassailable
- Duelist’s Rebuff
- Enduring Resolve
- Ironclad

- Steed’s Blessing

- Boundless Vitality
- Fortified
- Rejuvenation
- Peace Of Mind
As you gain additional Champion Points, you can expand beyond these slotables, but this setup provides a strong and flexible foundation.

Mundus Stone, Attributes & Race
✔️ We are using the Mage Mundus Stone.
The additional Max Magicka increases your resource pool while helping support blocking, sustain, healing, and overall utility throughout longer fights.
✔️ All 64 Attribute Points go into Health.
✔️ The recommended race is Breton .
Other viable options include Orc, Nord, High Elf, Argonian, or Imperial.
ANY race is fine for the build but if you are not Breton or perhaps Imperial, your reduction to cost bonus will NOT be there and you will suffer a lot more with sustainability, so may need to heavy attack more. Look for safe spots in a fight and get those resources back.

If you do not wish to participate in Trials, Dolorous Arena can be replaced with Crimson Oath's Rive. It will not perform exactly the same, but it still offers excellent
area-of-effect resistance debuffing for your group.
Alternatively, if you prefer to focus entirely on sustain rather than debuffing, you can replace it with Overwhelming Surge for extremely comfortable resource management and near-endless sustain.
