One Bar Plar – ESO One Bar Magicka Templar Build

Build Overview
This PvE Magicka Templar build is like no other. In The Elder Scrolls Online, there is a huge skill gap between players — from those just learning the game to the absolute elite.
That does not mean players with a lower skill level should be locked out of challenging content. ESO is built around choice and inclusivity: any class, any race, any role, and any skill level — it all depends on how you want to play.
Complex mechanics, fast rotations, and mobility requirements can be barriers for some players. This build exists to remove those barriers without removing access to the game’s toughest content.
🧠 Simple Doesn’t Mean Weak
The game does not lock content behind skill checks or gear walls. You can build how you like — including extremely simple and effective setups that take little effort to use and still get the hard stuff done.
Simplifying a build frees up mental space. Instead of being overwhelmed by fast decision-making and bar swaps, you can focus on mechanics, positioning, and awareness.
And yes — with a bit of practice, that means even you can do hard-mode content.
☀️ Who This Build Is For
If you struggle for any reason, or simply want something easier while still enjoying the Templar class, One Bar Plar is built for you.
🔁 Power Without Extra Effort
This build takes advantage of enemies dying around you to make you stronger — without requiring any changes to how you play. Focus on a single target if you want, and everything else happening around you feeds into your power.
With a one-bar setup, rotations are simplified, buffs require far less maintenance, and Oakensoul provides permanent uptime without tracking timers or bar swapping.
🛡️ Built-In Survival
- You heal from almost everything you do. As long as you apply pressure, you are very difficult to kill.
- When enemies die, you gain power. In almost all content — outside of pure single-target fights — you are rewarded with more damage whether you land the kill or not.
- Sustain can be handled through heavy attacks, which also help push enemies down in AoE situations to trigger your set procs.
- One bar means access to many buffs with no timers to track, no bar swaps, and far less mental load during fights.
- Macabre turns dead enemies into explosions, helping kill the living faster.
- The execute phase is extremely powerful. From 33% health and below, your Jesus beam becomes a kill switch — the beam melts targets while healing you at the same time.
- This build leans heavily into Templar class abilities rather than weapon skills, giving you a real reason to play a Templar instead of spamming Force Pulse. Get those sweeps in.

Class Mastery
Update 50 has given us a new system called Class Mastery in The Elder Scrolls Online. If you decide to remain 100% pure class, you gain access to five unique Class Mastery passives, but can only choose two. These are the two selected for this build.

Skill Flexibility: Consuming Trap can be replaced with Resolving Vigor if you prefer a more traditional heal-over-time option, particularly in content with fewer enemy deaths.
Ultimate Choice: Shooting Star offers excellent burst damage and rapid ultimate regeneration in crowded fights. If you prefer consistent passive damage and weapon power, Flawless Dawnbreaker remains a strong alternative.
↑ Back to TopRotationfor The One Bar Plar!
As expected from a one-bar setup, the One Bar Plar does not use a strict rotation. Your goal is simply to maintain your damage-over-time effects and use Puncturing Sweeps as your main spammable.
Light attack weaving is still important. You should perform a light attack before every skill cast, including during your execute phase.
Standard Combat Flow
If you are using Consuming Trap, open on a target with the following:
- Consuming Trap (light attack before cast)
- Solar Barrage (light attack before cast)
- Blazing Spear (light attack before cast)
Once all three are active, repeatedly cast Puncturing Sweeps, weaving a light attack before each cast, until one of the above abilities is about to expire.
Reapply the expired ability, then return immediately to spamming Puncturing Sweeps. This loop continues until the target reaches execute range.
Execute Phase (33% and Below)
At 33% health or lower, stop using Puncturing Sweeps and switch your spammable to Radiant Glory.
Your damage-over-time abilities remain the same. Maintain Consuming Trap, Solar Barrage, and Blazing Spear as before, weaving light attacks between casts, and return to spamming Radiant Glory.
Continue this pattern until the target is dead.
Important Reminder
You must light attack before every skill. Missing light attacks will noticeably reduce damage, even in a one-bar setup.
The rotation itself is simple, but correct timing and clean light attack weaving will significantly improve performance with practice.

Notes: Raw damage on targets is relatively good compared to other setups, but where this build really shines is when things start to die.
Once you secure kills, both sets trigger, resulting in massive explosions and Major Berserk on every kill.
Because of this, dummy testing will show decent but ultimately limited results due to TWO 5 piece sets not being able to utilize their 5 piece bonuses. In real content, however, the build performs extremely well. Single target ONLY fights, you may want to consider other options, but MOST fights have something extra to kill. As it stands, it's a solid simple setup. Use it for it's intent and purposes and you won't be disappointed!
