The Cannon – One Bar Sorcerer Build
The Cannon is back, and now stronger than ever thanks to Update 50's Class Mastery system.
A One Bar Build That Actually Plays Fast
Most one bar builds are designed around a simplke heavy attack and stacking sets that support it. The Cannon keeps all the advantages of Oakensoul(one bar of skills) while offering a much more active experience. Instead of holding Heavy Attack and waiting, you're constantly reacting to procs, building stacks, and firing abilities as they become available.
It's easy to learn, but every fight feels different because your damage is driven by what happens in the moment rather than a rigid rotation.
Pure Class, Pure Thaumaturge
This is a true 100% Sorcerer build. This is a true 100% Sorcerer build. Rather than borrowing power from other classes, The Cannon doubles down on what Sorcerer already does best, Throwing crystals and zapping stuff! By remaining fully committed to the Sorcerer toolkit, The Cannon gains access to powerful Class Mastery passives that provide additional damage throughout the fight and even more passive execute power like the GOOD OLD DAYS!.
The build also takes advantage of Sorcerer-specific item sets and passives, creating a fully themed setup where the gear, skills, and Class Mastery bonuses all work towards the same goal.
Built To Work Together
One of the most satisfying parts of The Cannon is how naturally everything flows. Your skills trigger set bonuses, your sets strengthen your skills, and your Class Mastery passives reinforce both. Rather than managing a list of separate mechanics, the build continuously feeds itself as you play.
On top of that, Sorcerer proc mechanics add an element of unpredictability that keeps the build fun. Lucky Crystal Fragment procs and maintaining light attacks for those much needed (non magicka costing) flying daggers from bound armaments, feels very rewarding. Paying attention gives you the oppotunity to fire more more damage. Noticing something has triggered, and reacting to it feels like a dopamaine hit each time because you "got it right". It's a skill check that you achieved, saw positive results from, and feel better for it!
Built For Everything
Whether you're questing, running dungeons, clearing arenas, tackling trials, or pushing the hardest content in the game, The Cannon has the tools to get the job done. It hits hard, plays smoothly, and fully embraces what makes the Sorcerer class one of the most enjoyable damage dealers in The Elder Scrolls Online.
Fashion

The Cannon uses the Dread Anka-Ra Polymorph.
This polymorph is available from the The Elder Scrolls Online Crown Store for 1,200 Crowns, or 960 Crowns with ESO Plus.
The Cannon Build Skills
The Cannon is a pure Sorcerer One Bar build built around Class Mastery, stack generation, reactive procs, and hard-hitting direct damage. Rather than following a strict rotation, the build rewards quick reactions, smart timing, and making the most of the opportunities your skills create.

Class Mastery
Update 50 has given us a new system called Class Mastery in The Elder Scrolls Online. If you decide to remain a true pureclass Sorcerer, you gain access to 5 Class Mastery passives, but can only choose TWO. These are the two selected for The Cannon build.
- Font of Power
- Static Reverberation Scribing Skills and Skill Swaps
Wield Soul – Scribing Scripts:
This build uses Wield Soul configured with Shock Damage, Class Script, and Major Breach.
The Major Breach script can be replaced if Breach is already supplied elsewhere or not required for the content you are running.
Shocking Banner – Scribing Scripts:
To make the banner in Scribing, you will require the Shock Script, Class Script, and Resolve Script for Minor Resolve.
Ultimate Choice:
If you prefer more burst damage, you can replace Summon Charged Atronach with Power Overload. Overall damage remains very similar, but the burst potential is considerably higher for low-health bosses and shorter encounters.
The Cannon – Rotation
The Cannon is built around maintaining your core damage skills while reacting to procs as they appear. There is no complicated sequence to memorize and no rigid rotation to follow.
Core Rotation
- Light Attack → Wield Soul Repeatedly.
- Keep Liquid Lightning active under the target at all times.
- Reapply Liquid Lightning every 15 seconds.
- When Bound Armaments is ready, use it instead of Wield Soul.
- When Crystal Fragments procs its special version, use it immediately instead of Wield Soul.
That's the entire rotation. Light Attack and Wield Soul are your default actions, while Bound Armaments and Crystal Fragments naturally replace Wield Soul whenever they become available.
Note: If you do struggle with resources at ANY time, you are always benefitting from Empower, so don't be afraid to heavy attack occasionally. Especially during off balance. It won't dramatically dip your DPS and it supplies TWO stacks of the 4 daggers you need for Bound Armaments. So it's win win in those situations.
Liquid Lightning
Liquid Lightning should remain under the target at all times.
Tip: Staying close to the target allows you to activate your own Conduit synergy for additional damage. If another player activates it instead, the target still receives the effect, so the damage is never wasted.
Ultimate Usage
- Use Summon Charged Atronach whenever it is available.
- If using Power Overload, try to enter major fights with as much Ultimate as possible.
- Building to 500 Ultimate before a boss pull will maximize your opening burst.
- During longer fights, activating Overload between 200–300 Ultimate is generally more consistent than waiting for a full Ultimate bar.
ESO Champion Points – The Cannon Setup
The Champion Point setup for The Cannon is built entirely around single-target, direct damage. Every slotted star enhances the core strengths of the build: rapid Light Attacks, opportunistic Heavy Attacks, and hard-hitting direct damage skills.
Because this build naturally alternates between Light Attacks, Heavy Attacks, and instant-cast abilities, Champion Points that improve all three categories are always effective, regardless of which action you are currently performing.
- Warfare (Blue) – Increases direct damage, Light and Heavy Attack damage, and single-target pressure.
- Fitness (Red) – Improves survivability and sustain to keep the rotation flowing smoothly.
- Craft (Green) – Utility-focused bonuses that can be unlocked naturally over time.
This Champion Point setup reinforces the Cannon’s philosophy: every action matters. Whether you are firing a proc, weaving attacks, or rebuilding stacks, these choices ensure your damage remains consistent and impactful.
NOTE: If you want extra healing, you can remove Wrathful Strikes and replace with Reaving Blows, then every hit will heal you!

- Wrathful Strikes
- Master-at-Arms
- Fighting Finesse/Back Stabber
- Deadly Aim

Steed's Blessing
Utility-focused Champion Points.
These do not impact combat directly and can be unlocked naturally over time.

- Boundless Vitality
- Bloody Renewal
- Fortified
- Siphoning Spells

Mundus, Attributes & Race Choice
We are using the Thief Mundus Stone.
All 64 Attribute Points are placed into Magicka.
Recommended race: High Elf .
Other viable options include Khajiit . Note, if you use Khajiit, you will easily cap out on critical damage bonuses due to passives, so swap Fighting Finesse/Backstabber, to Weapon's Expert in the Champion Points to close the gap.
