Sting – ESO Stamina Nightblade PvE Build

Finally, a proper Stamblade for the channel. This one took a while, not because it was hard to make, but because I didn’t want to put it out until the balance was in a place where it wouldn’t need constant changes. Now it’s ready.

Nightblades have a reputation for being awkward to play, and honestly, that’s fair. A lot of it comes down to how Spectral Bow works. It’s not a simple press-and-forget skill, and if you don’t understand how it stacks, rotations can feel messy very quickly.

Spectral Bow is triggered through Grim Focus. Light attacks build one stack, heavy attacks build two, and once you reach five, you can fire the bow for a high-damage hit with a heal if you’re close enough.

For a lot of players, that usually means counting attacks, watching timers, or relying on add-ons to tell you when it’s ready. That’s not how this build works.

With Sting, the rotation is structured so that, if you perform it correctly, you will always fire two Spectral Bows every front bar rotation. No add-ons. No counting. No tracking buffs in the corner of your screen.

The rotation was designed with two goals in mind. Keep damage high, and make sure all the important buffs and uptimes happen naturally as part of what you’re already doing. Ease of use matters just as much as raw numbers here.

Everything in the setup works together. Survival, sustain, damage, passives, set bonuses, and procs are all accounted for. It might take a little time to get comfortable with, but once it clicks, it’s extremely consistent.

Sustain, Ultimate, and Passives

The build takes full advantage of Nightblade passives and Fighters Guild bonuses. Killing enemies builds ultimate, and simply using a potion every 45 seconds grants another boost to ultimate. Combined with a low-cost ultimate, this means you can use it very frequently.

Sustain is handled through a mix of class tools and smart rotation design. Siphoning Attacks now returns a significant amount of resources while also healing you every second as you deal damage. It’s doing a lot of work in the background.

Survivability is also more forgiving than people expect. Reapplying Dark Shade maintains your resistance bonus thanks to recent changes moving that passive into the Shadow skill line. You’re tankier than most Stamblades without needing extra slots.

Playing the Rotation

The most important thing to remember is simple. Keep the rotation moving. This build isn’t heavy on damage over time effects, so if you stop pressing buttons, your damage stops with it.

Light attacks are absolutely critical. They fuel Spectral Bow, they keep everything ticking, and they make sets like Relequen feel natural instead of awkward. If you’re doing what the build asks, Relequen just works.

When the target hits execute range, the rotation changes slightly. From around 35% health and below, Surprise Attack is replaced with Killer’s Blade. Everything else stays the same. You’re not spamming mindlessly, you’re adapting the rotation and letting it do its job.

  • Very strong single-target damage, especially below 35% health
  • Solid survivability without needing extra defensive skills
  • Consistent healing through damage and kills
  • Frequent ultimate usage through passives and potion timing
  • Controlled rotation that balances sustain and damage
  • Full use of class passives, including group buffs
  • Fast-paced rotation that stays manageable

Sting rewards aggression, but it also rewards discipline. If you follow the rotation, keep your light attacks clean, and don’t panic in execute, the damage speaks for itself.

It’s a Stamblade that finally feels natural to play.

Built for players who want a high-performing Stamina Nightblade in The Elder Scrolls Online without fighting the class to make it work.

Sting – ESO Pureclass Nightblade PvE Build Skills

This is the core skill setup for Sting, built around aggressive front-bar pressure with Dual Wield and strong damage-over-time support from the Bow back bar. The layout is designed to keep buffs and debuffs rolling smoothly while maintaining high single-target pressure, clean execute flow, and reliable sustain throughout longer fights.

Class Mastery

Update 50 has given us a new system called Class Mastery in The Elder Scrolls Online. If you decide to remain 100% pure class, you gain access to five unique Class Mastery passives, but can only choose two. These are the two selected for this build.

Above And Beyond - Above And Beyond
Notes:
Deadly Cloak can replace Sundering Banner on the front bar.
Echoing Vigor can replace Sundering Banner on the back bar.

Scribing: To create Sundering Banner, use Banner Bearer with Physical Damage, Class Mastery, and Heroism scripts.

🏆 Champion Points – STING Nightblade DPS Setup

Champion Points in The Elder Scrolls Online are used here to reinforce what STING does best: raw single-target pressure, execute damage, and consistent scaling without over-complicating the rotation. These choices maximise weapon damage, critical scaling, and direct damage amplification.

Once you reach level 50, Champion Points are split across three constellations: Warfare (Blue), Craft (Green), and Fitness (Red). For STING, the focus is on direct damage, weapon scaling, sustain on kill, and survivability without sacrificing DPS.

ESO Blue Champion Points
  • Master-at-Arms
  • Thaumaturge / Reaving Blows
  • Deadly Aim
  • Wrathful Strikes
ESO Green Champion Points
  • Rationer
  • Liquid Efficiency
  • Treasure Hunter
  • Steed’s Blessing
ESO Red Champion Points
  • Boundless Vitality
  • Rejuvenation
  • Fortified
  • Bloody Renewal

These Champion Points push STING toward consistent, repeatable damage with excellent execute power. Blue focuses purely on DPS scaling, Red provides survivability and sustain through kills, and Green offers quality-of-life without impacting combat performance.

Rotation - How To Play Sting

The Sting Pureclass Nightblade Build is all about timing, rhythm, and keeping your bow procs rolling. Your first rotation is used to wind everything up — what follows below is the rotation you repeat once Merciless Resolve is fully online.

Front Bar Rotation

Once your Spectral Bow is primed, your front bar looks like this:

  • Light Attack → Spectral Bow
  • Light Attack → Surprise Attack ×4
  • Light Attack → (slight delay) Spectral Bow
  • Light Attack → Barbed Trap
  • Weapon Swap

Important: The Light Attack before Spectral Bow needs a tiny delay so it counts as the fifth stack. If this feels awkward while learning, simply do 5× Surprise Attack instead — less efficient, but very consistent. (Note: if you are using a different morph you only need 4x stacks so ignore the

Back Bar Rotation

  • Light Attack → Endless Hail
  • Light Attack → Poison Injection
  • Light Attack → Dark Shade
  • Weapon Swap

Once rolling, your back bar timers are long enough that you can alternate skills each swap: one rotation Shade, the next Poison Injection. This keeps your back-bar time minimal and maximises front-bar uptime.

Execute Phase (40% & Below)

During execute:

  • Replace Surprise Attack with Killer’s Blade
  • Stop firing Spectral Bow and save it for an emergency heal

Sustain & Bow Procs

One Light Attack counts as one bow stack. One Heavy Attack counts as two.

If sustain becomes an issue, replace:
2× Light Attack → Surprise Attack
with
Heavy Attack → Surprise Attack.

This keeps your timing intact while stabilising resources.

Ultimate Usage

Use Soul Harvest as often as possible. It has a short cast time, so avoid wasting bar-swap windows.

If no back-bar skills need refreshing:
Ultimate → Light Attack → Siphoning Strikes → Weapon Swap

This keeps your rotation flowing while restoring resources.

TL;DR Rotation

Every skill gets a Light Attack before it.

Light Attack → Surprise Attack spam until Spectral Bow is ready → Light Attack → Spectral Bow → Maintain back-bar DoTs → Repeat.

Below around 35%, do the same — but replace Surprise Attack with Killer’s Blade and stop using Spectral Bow.

If executed cleanly, you can occasionally fire two Spectral Bows per rotation.

Around 115k DPS on a fully-buffed dummy is realistic — not inflated, not gimmicky, and designed to perform exactly the same way in real content.

Average players will hit less — and still comfortably clear all content, hard modes, and trials.

Clean, consistent, deadly.

Mundus, Attributes & Race

Mundus: Thief
Attributes: 64 Stamina

Recommended Race: Orc

Redguard, Wood Elf, Imperial, and Khajiit are all viable alternatives. Race choice will not break the build — it only affects sustain, damage feel, and mobility.

Potions, Poisons, & Food

🧪 Weapon Power Potions

Potions are technically optional, but Weapon Power Potions provide a large damage increase by granting Major Brutality, Major Savagery, and Major Endurance at the same time. For organised content or pushing damage, these are strongly recommended.

🍜 Food

Food is very simple for Sting. Use the highest-level food you can that provides only Max Health and Max Stamina. All flat-stat foods below give the same bonus — choose whichever is easiest to obtain.

Recovery Food (Optional)

Flat Stat Food (Recommended)
