How To Play The Build

The Permablock Nightblade Tank plays differently from traditional tanks. Instead of juggling multiple sustain tools, this setup turns your block into a permanent defensive stance while Siphoning Attacks, Leeching, and your passives maintain all three resources at once. Your job is simple: stay alive, stay in control, and never let the group take hits meant for you.

While the build is extremely forgiving once you understand the rhythm, you still need to maintain crucial buffs, control enemies, manage taunts, and keep the battlefield clean. The video guide breaks down the flow, but here's everything you need to know in text form.

Essential Buffs You Must Maintain

The entire build revolves around two major defensive buffs. Keep these up at all times:

• Dark Cloak – Grants your Major Resolve. Reapply every ~24 seconds to ensure safe overlap, even if you don’t need the heal. This is your base mitigation—never let it fall off.
• Elemental Blockade – Maintain under your targets for minor debuffs, root control (via ice staff), and constant uptime on your ice glyph damage shield. This is a core part of your survival and group support.

If you can maintain these two skills, your major defensive layers remain intact and your control becomes effortless.

Combat Flow, Control & Debuff Management

After your primary buffs are active, your main job becomes controlling enemies, keeping taunts rolling, and stacking everything neatly in front of you. This build’s toolkit makes that surprisingly smooth.

• Pierce Armor – Apply this every 11–12 seconds. It gives both Major and Minor Breach and keeps taunt safely refreshed with room for error.
• Silver Leash – Drag enemies into position. It applies a hard CC (immune to stun but not immobilization), making your initial pull extremely clean.
• Gripping Shards – Locks down packs with snares and immobilizations once they’re grouped.
• Mass Hysteria – If the target is CC immune, the Major Cowardice still applies, making it essential for reducing outgoing damage even when the stun doesn’t trigger.

The philosophy is simple:
Pull it → Pin it → Stab it.
Group everything tightly, lock it down, and keep your debuffs rolling.

Block Management & Resource Sustain

This is where the build truly becomes “Permablock.” While holding block:

• Siphoning Attacks can be pressed repeatedly without dropping block.
• Being hit fuels Leeching and returns health, magicka, and stamina.
• You maintain infinite sustain through constant micro-ticks of resources.

As long as you maintain block during heavy incoming damage and weave Siphoning Attacks when needed, your bars will refill themselves. The gameplay is reactive, smooth, and incredibly forgiving once you get the rhythm.

Taunt Management (Critical!)

Your taunt lasts 15 seconds — refresh it every 11–12 seconds. This ensures that even during mechanics, movement, or latency spikes, enemies never turn to your team.

Aggro in ESO is NOT based on damage or healing. If taunt expires, the boss becomes a roulette wheel of potential death. Maintain it cleanly and consistently.
