Curated Item Set Drops In Patch 32

Reducing the Farming Grind
Have you ever been caught in the gear farming grind? Dungeon after dungeon. Boss after boss. And still not get the gear you wanted? Those days are over!
Update 32 features a most welcome and major change in how players gain and collect item set pieces. The new Curated Item Set Drops system has been designed to give you specific items not already in your set collection. This will allow you to more quickly farm that must-have gear and complete your item set collections more easily.
Loot Tables For Most Bosses
The Elder Scrolls Online players are rewarded for each boss kill with item/items from that boss’s loot table.
- Delve bosses drop a waist, foot, or another unique item piece.
- Overland World Bosses drop a head, chest, leg, weapon, or unique item piece.
- Public dungeon bosses drop a shoulder, hand, weapon, or unique item piece.
- Chests at Dark Anchors or Dolmens drop a jewelry set piece.
Even with Curated Item Set Drops, bosses with a specific loot table will only drop curated items from it’s own loot table.
You are not going to get a Medusa Inferno Staff from the first boss in Arx Coriuium because that boss never drops the inferno staff.
How Curated Item Set Drops Work
When an item set piece drops from a monster, the system will try to give you something of that set that you haven’t already collected. While this does greatly reduce the randomness of the pieces you get, it will also greatly reduce the time required to complete set collections.
After you complete a set, the drops you get will return to completely random.
The basis for this amazing breakthrough began with the Set Collection system deployed last year. With Set Collections, the system knows which pieces you have already collected allowing developers to create a curated system that rewards you with an item you have not previously collected.
Treasure Chest Drop Rates Not Changed
Treasure chests have a chance to grant any set piece from the zone they are found in. There has been no change to random chests drops. Set curation only applies to bosses. Chests (overland chests and treasure maps), coffers, and rewards are not affected by Item Set Curation.
Treasure Hunter Champion Points Slottable
With the Flames of Ambition DLC released in March 2021, the Treasure Hunter skill was introduced. Located in the Craft constellation, this passive when slotted increases the QUALITY of items you find in treasure chests.
While this entire constellation is not typically necessary for mechanics, it greatly affects one’s quality of life. It is recommended in many builds and you can find more info about Champion Points 2.0 and slottables on this beginners guide or on any of the build guides.
The ESO official news article can be found on The Elder Scrolls Online official website.
The goal was to make content that players engage in for specific rewards more rewarding the more it is completed. So, Delve bosses, Public Dungeon champions, Group Bosses in overland would all have curation. Same with Dungeons and Trials, it will be included for all bosses.

One thing to note is, we are not adding drops to monsters that do not currently drop a specific piece of gear. So, if the monster only dropped legs and shoulders, it will continue to only drop those and just use curation to determine which pieces you would get from that list.
