Bastian is an Imperial with a dragonknight-based skill set. Here’s a brief look at his skills and passives.
Racial Passive Bastian Hallix

Tough
This passive increases his Max Health by a % and his damage done by a %.
Ardent Warrior

Fiery Flail
The companion lashes an enemy with flame dealing Flame Damage and setting them Off Balance for seconds.

Scorching Strike
The companion slashes an enemy with flame dealing Flame Damage and an additional Flame Damage over seconds.

Crag Smash
The companion hurls a chunk of rock at an enemy dealing Physical Damage.

Unleashed Rage
The companion builds up rage and then unleashes it in a devastating explosion around them. The explosion deals Flame Damage to enemies and stuns them for seconds while also releasing four lines in a cross formation that deal an additional Flame Damage to any enemy they hit.
Draconic Armor

Crushing Claws
The companion calls forth talons from the ground dealing Flame Damage to enemies nearby and immobilizing them for seconds.

Blazing Grasp
The companion launches a fiery chain to grasp and pull an enemy to them. This is used when the enemy can be moved and is further than 10 meters away.

Drake’s Blood
The companion draws on their draconic blood healing for 25% of the Max Health and reducing their damage taken by a % for seconds. This is used when the companion is below 75% Health.
Radiating Heart

Basalt Barrier
The companion calls the earth to their defense granting a damage shield for them and their nearby allies that absorbs damage for seconds. While the damage shield holds, the healing received is increased by a %.

Kindle
The companion launches a searing fireball at themselves or an ally to cauterize their wounds healing for Health. This is used when the companion or an ally is below 75% Health.

Searing Weapons
The companion charges their weapons and their allies’ weapons with volcanic power increasing their damage done with Light and Heavy Attacks by a % for seconds.

- earn +10 by visiting a Mages Guild hall that could hold a portal to Eyevea (20 hour cooldown)

- earn +5 by scrying (5 minute cooldown)
- earn +1 visiting crafting stations
- reading a random book +1 (15 minute cooldown)
- killing Worm Cultists +1 (5-10 minute cooldown)

- killing Night Runners in Summerset +1
Unfavorable Rapport Actions
- lose -25 by any thievery and killing friendly NPCs
- lose -25 by using the Blade of Woe on any NPCs
- lose -25 by pickpocketing

- lose -1 by crafting provisions with cheese
How To Add Bastian Hallix To Your Allies
To add Bastian Hallix you must first complete the introductory quest. South of the Blueblood Wayshrine marked on the image above, you’ll find encounter Bastian a little ‘tied up’ and he asks for your assistance with the quest called Competition and Contracts.
As with all companions, once you complete their introductory quest, he will join your list of allies.
Please note that this same quest must be completed on all your characters in order to summon Bastian as a companion.
