Bastian’s Insight – potions looted from chests and monsters have a 30% chance to be improved by Bastian’s Insight.

Bastian Hallix’s Companion Skills

Bastian is an Imperial with a dragonknight-based skill set.  Here’s a brief look at his skills and passives.

Racial Passive Bastian Hallix

Tough

Increases Max Health by 3% and increases damage done by 3%.

Ardent Warrior

Fiery Flail

The companion lashes an enemy with flame dealing 5099 Flame Damage and setting them Off Balance for 7 seconds.

Scorching Strike

The companion slashes an enemy with flame dealing 5099 Flame Damage and an additional 7648 Flame Damage over 8 seconds.

Crag Smash

The companion hurls a chunk of rock at an enemy dealing 5099 Physical Damage.

Unleashed Rage

The companion builds up rage and then unleashes it in a devastating explosion around them.  The explosion deals 7648 Flame Damage to enemies and stuns them for seconds while also releasing four lines in a cross formation over 10 seconds that deal an additional 1912 Flame Damage to any enemy they hit.

Draconic Armor

Crushing Claws

The companion calls forth talons from the ground dealing 2549 Flame Damage to enemies nearby and immobilizing them for 4 seconds.

Blazing Grasp

The companion launches a fiery chain to grasp and pull an enemy to them taunting them for 15 seconds if they are not already taunted.  This is used when the enemy can be moved and is further than 10 meters away.

Drake’s Blood

The companion draws on their draconic blood healing for 25% of the Max Health and reducing their damage taken by a 20% for 8 seconds.  This is used when the companion is below 75% Health.

Radiating Heart

Basalt Barrier

The companion calls the earth to their defense, granting a damage shield for them and their nearby allies that absorbs 2475 damage for 6 seconds. While the damage shield holds, healing received is increased by 15%.

Kindle

The Companion launches a searing fireball at themselves or an ally to cauterize their wounds, healing for 4212 Health. This is used when the companion or an ally is below 75% Health.

Searing Weapons

The companion charges their weapons and their allies’ weapons with volcanic power, increasing their damage done with Light and Heavy Attacks by 15% for 8 seconds.

How To Add Bastian Hallix To Your Allies

To add Bastian Hallix you must first complete the introductory quest.  South of the Blueblood Wayshrine in Blackwood marked on the image above, you’ll encounter Bastian a little ‘tied up’ and he asks for your assistance with the quest called Competition and Contracts.

As with all companions, once you complete their introductory quest, he will join your list of allies.  

Please note that this same quest must be completed on all your characters in order to summon Bastian as a companion.  

Bastian Hallix’s Backstory

Stalwart and true, Bastian Hallix personifies the best traits of High Rock nobility.  But in a world of greed and broken vows, can a righteous man persevere?  Call this companion to your side and prove that Tamriel still needs virtuous guardians.
